in honor of pride month, last night i drew this portrait of julie d’aubigny, better know as the mademoiselle la maupin, who was a bisexual french opera singer from the 17th century. in her prime, which was her entire life (she had burned down a convent before she was twenty, and died at about the age of thirty-six), she was renowned for her wild lifestyle and incredible dueling skills (even though dueling was illegal at the time). if you’d like to learn more about her, i definitely recommend extra credits’ video on her. it’s very imformative
