i think this project speaks for itself, but i'll give you some information anyway. its a long read btw. recently you might have heard about the murder of Ahmaud Arbery. He was shot by two men while jogging. It was a hate crime and a racist, senseless murder of an innocent black man. It was not investigated until 2 months after he was killed. You also might have heard of the murder of George Floyd. He was killed by a policeman as he lay on the ground, unarmed and handcuffed, while the officer calmly knelt with a knee on his neck as George cried out that he couldn't breathe and pleaded, begging for his mother and suffocating, eventually dying because the officer wouldn't get off of him. He wasn't resisting, he was trying to stay alive. Say their names. They were killed in cold blood, both recently. Think of how many more innocent black people, men, women, and children, have been murdered despite their innocence. There are thousands, more than I could fit in this project. But still the violence continues. There has been a protest going on in Minneapolis. it started out peaceful, but police tear gassed and shot rubber bullets at the protesters. These people fighting for justice? they were shot at and harmed for fighting against racism and inequality. Your "president" referred to them as thugs. Are we thugs for wanting equality? Are we thugs for fighting for the men, women, and children slaughtered in cold blood? Is this what America has come to? I'm not black, but I hear you. I'm not black, but I see you. I'm not black, but I stand with you. I feel your pain and I want justice for everyone who was killed because of the color of their skin. I'm not speaking as a white savior either. I'm spreading this message because I feel strongly about it, and it's not deserving of praise or personal attention. I'm doing the bare minimum by spreading the message. No peace until there is justice. You will not be silenced. -By @moonmarbles
