Welcome to my account! I look forward to sharing my drawings and my art journey here! ----------------------------------------------------------------- My story ----------------------------------------------------------------- (you will need a lot of time and patience to read this) I started drawing in the fourth grade when I was 9. I started drawing because my art teacher gave out these little dragon drawing that I LOVED. I first copied from a dragon book. My best friend wanted to learn too so we worked together. (let's just say I was more motivated) I was really proud of those drawings. Then my brother told me that copying wasnt drawing and that it wasn't art. That really hurt. Fast forward a few weeks and I got a book on how to draw dragons from my parents. I started grilling hours and hours into drawing dragons. My first attempts sucked even though I was really proud of them. I wanted to get better. At this point my friend was far behind me and I was getting better. In sixth grade I wasnt very good but I had the basics down and I was getting better. Middle school, was definitly the year that I improved the most. When I entered the year. I couldn't draw the bodies of my dragons very well so I would hide them with the wings of my dragons. (That friend I talked about? He still draws but not as much as me and we don't draw the same things). This was also the year were EVERYBODy had a social media of some type. And I got exposed to it. I got ticktock and deviant art, snapchat instagram and I devoured those tutorials like candy. My art style took a drastic turn because of those (mostly ticktock) And I stopped hiding the bodies of my dragons behind wings. The anatomy of my drawings was so much better. And middle school is also were you meet new friends! A guy I met in my english class was pretty good at drawing, he drew wolves. This far into my 'career' The only things I had ever drawn were dragons and maybe a rare human or two. so wolves seemed sooo hard back then. But I got better and now I love to draw wolves and cats and dogs. Ticktock also exposed to me hundreds of drawing styles and more specifically, humans, One ticktocker in particular influenced me the most. I forgot what his username used to be but now it's demonicneverland (go check him out he is AMAZING) He drew these cartoonish humans that were anatomically almost correct. I LOVED his art style and again. I grinded in hours of trying to draw his style. (spoiler alert, I didn't really catch on) I couldn't draw in his art style and more importantly, I couldn't draw humans and I was so frustrated! So i looked up tutorials and I draw humans no matter how horrible they were. I did. I never gave up and even though today I still suck at humans hopefully some day I will be able to update this story and say "I mastered humans" Because I did not spend four years of drawing to give up. And you should never give up either. Everyone starts somewhere and no matter how old you are or how 'bad' you are. If you put in the hours then you'll make it. I did and I had to balance school and soccer with it. I gave up video games and started reading a LOT less. I stopped looking to much on what OTHER people were doing and started focusing on what I was doing. Good luck on YOUR art journey! :)
