WELCOME to Michigan Jam! This game is probably my best game I have made yet. Well, almost-- go check out Botanica, my garden designer, which is still in its early stages. Or my new historical action game, Ancient Combat. Certainly, one of those will be my best game when they're done. :D Michigan Jam is LARGELY based on Animal Jam, so thanks Wildworks!! Idea credit-- along with a few other things-- goes to them. -SCROLL DOWN TO SEE INSTRUCTIONS- Please wait for the project to load. (This game is pretty big, it'll be worth it!) You could also try playing it on Turbowarp here for minimized lag: https://turbowarp.org/402383544 This game is full of amazing areas, awesome animals and cool features. I invite you to explore the huge world I have coded! This imaginary world is in a roughly Michigan-based setting, hence the name. -INSTRUCTIONS- NOTE- You can just click the button with the exclamation point to the left of your screen for help, but if you want to read these instructions instead, you are fully welcome to. :D -Arrow keys to move. -To go to a different area, find an arrow in one of the areas and touch it with your character. -Hover your mouse over the button with the animal shape in the corner and use the right and left arrow keys to change the animal color. -Do the same thing for changing the costume color, except hover over the button right above the color-changing button instead. -To discard clothing, click the button to the right of the color-changing button. -To change your current animal, click the button to the right of the costume color-changing button. -To go to your den, click the button with the home symbol on it in the upper left corner. -Drag den items around your den to decorate it how you like. -To turn a den item, hover over the item and click the "t" key. -To change your current den, click one of the buttons in the upper left corner while in another den. -To go back to the main area from your den, click the button labeled "Village" in the upper left corner while in a den. -If you're in a hurry, click the orange button in the upper right corner to speed up. Click it again to slow down, etc. - Click the two green buttons in the lower left corner to change your current pet. The green bar right below the buttons will tell you what pet you have. This game has a story... What follows is the history of Michigan Jam. Late September 2019- Catholic Jam (An earlier version of Michigan Jam) released! October-February 2019/2020- Catholic Jam made bigger and bigger. March 2020- Game freezes up computer due to large size, Catholic Jam unshared. June 2020- New space saving techniques discovered, and Catholic Jam is brought back as Catholic Jam II. July 2021- The name 'Catholic Jam II' is changed to Michigan Jam due to its unpopularity, being labeled a Catholic game, even though most of the elements in the game are not religion-related. However, the Catholic elements of the game are still kept. In other words, I am not diminishing Catholicism in any way, quite the opposite. Also a note- I now believe that Catholic Jam never actually "ran out of space" or became too big, I think I may have just been inside the editor for too long and it created a bunch of lag. But nonetheless, at the time I thought I needed to create more space before continuing the project. -Enjoy and God Bless!- P.S. check out my new beta-testing garden designer game, Botanica, HERE: It's way better than this! (Even though this is pretty cool :P)
Some of the content is from my previous game, Catholic Jam, which got very large and glitchy. ~see my note about that in the instructions~ (BTW I fixed it and you can now play it, although it does not have as many features as this game. Follow the link at the bottom of the credits!) After learning some space-saving techniques, I decided to make Catholic Jam II, which I later renamed Michigan Jam! The rest was made by me after I made Catholic Jam, except for the following: - Jesus and Mary picture from the Catholic Homeschooler's Club -World Map from @CISaxel -Information on Fort Michilimackinac and Bond Falls from Wikipedia -Beatles photos from @JurassicBeatleGirl -Random Number Robot from Scratch -Based on Animal Jam -Bricks made by me, designed by Lego -Four Jammers from Animal Jam, agsoebackup, rr2q1, eve435 and dingofox13 -ALL of the shows, movies etc. from which I made costumes and areas! LOTS of credit to them! PLAY the PREVIOUS GAME that I made before this one, Catholic Jam, HERE: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/334081665/
