--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Midnight Stars: Name: Midnight Stars || Nickname: Star || Gender: Female || Personality: Very sweet on the inside and to people that she likes, but sometimes scary and angry || Kin: Dead || Likes: Being alone, being with her friends || Dislikes: Too much social interaction, Leaf “Quiet!” Leaf hisses at me, even though I’m not making a sound. I know not to say anything, he’ll just accuse me of making more noise. I just glare, telling him with my eyes ‘the only noise I hear is coming from you.’ Cloud says I’m good at that, talking with my eyes. Cloud. I wish she was here. She always makes me feel better. I need that right now, considering the mission. The hardest, most dangerous mission anyone has ever done. I still can’t believe I was chosen for it. I remember the day I was told. I was called into our leader’s office. “Star,” he said, looking into my eyes seriously. “I have a mission for you.” I nod. This is normal, I’m called to many missions. “This one is very dangerous. A few others are going with you,” he nods as if that settles it and dismisses me. That’s how I ended up on a mission to rescue some unknown cat with Leaf (annoying and bossy tom), Rose (a kind and observant she-cat), Sky (an unreadable tom, new to our home), and Lichen (non-binary, deadly, a good friend). Of course, we had to split up to search different places. Of course, I was the one paired with Leaf. At least Rose is here. “Star, you go with me over here,” Rose whispered, pointing with her tail. “Leaf, when I give the signal, do your thing,” we nod and jump to our appropriate places. Rose nods at Leaf and he leaps down, quickly knocking the guards unconscious. Rose and I leap down after him. Soon we’re with Sky and Lichen again. Sky looks suspicious, but I don’t pay attention to that. We need to get this done. Before any of us can move, we’re surrounded. I don’t know what happened, there wasn’t supposed to be this many guards on the premises. Decked in armor, claws unsheathed, they advance. I see Rose’s face, horrified and. . . . . . guilty. The guards escort us to our cell, confused one whether to put Lichen with the she-cats or the toms. They finally give up and Lichen pads over to Rose and me. “Rose!” I hiss. “What was that? You betrayed us!” She shrinks beneath my glare. “I-I didn’t tell them!” she protests. “Then who did you tell?” “I-It may have slipped out when I was talking to a friend. Her brother works here,” the last part is mumbled. I sigh, looking around. “Now we have to get out of here,” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The art is by @daisykitty The story is by me. Though I did get the idea from Six of Crows, the idea has been stuck in my head ever since I read it. I think this one is a little better with keeping the pace the same.
