INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Press the green flag. 2. Wait until the lists have finished compiling. 3. Select the appropriate colour from the colour palette. There are eleven colours at 10% probability intervals. Blue means the Democrats are more likely to win; red, the Republicans; white, neither. 4. Click on states or districts to fill them with that colour. 5. Hold down shift and click the green flag to activate turbo mode. 6. Press Run to start the simulation. 7. Several variables will pop up. The percentages under DEM and GOP indicate the chance of the Democrats and Republicans winning a majority of electoral votes. The numbers below those indicate the average number of electoral votes won. The percentage under the middle of the colour spectrum indicates the chance of a tie (i.e. both parties winning 269 electoral votes). 8. Let the simulation run for a good minute or so. 9. You can press Stop and read the results, recolour the states, and rerun the simulation. You can also recolour states during a simulation if you want to play around with it for some reason.
