okay, i really wanted to make a project addressing everything that's been going on right now in the US. first of all, i DO live in america. i am not black. but i think that black lives matter SO much and all these riots are for such a good cause. it makes me horribly sad to see that racial injustice is still happening today. i am not proud to be american right now. not at ALL. knowing that i live in a country where cops kill black people with no hesitation and there's still such a large amount of injustice for these people makes me ashamed. but of course, i am as far away from supporting these cops that i can be. no one right now should be saying "all lives matter" because that can't be true if black lives DON'T matter!! and they DO!! i did watch the george floyd video, and it really hurt me just to see that sort of stuff happening today. that should NOT be happening. black people have just as many rights as white people and now we are watching them getting taken away just as they were centuries ago. the police in this country are terrible and cruel if they EVER thought that doing something like they did to george floyd was okay-- they ARE terrible and cruel for the most part. my science teacher had us do this lesson on adaptions and evolution before school let out. one of her examples was how people's melanin levels have adapted based on where they live: and at the end of the video we watched it said that it's a shame we're still treating black people like we are just because of how their bodies have adapted to their environment. to really think about that makes you see it in a whole new light. police are killing black people unrightfully, people are not giving them the same opportunities that whites are given, people are not allowing black people to do something that whites can: just because of the amount of melanin they have. it is SO AWFUL and terrible in every way and i will stand for BLM until things get better. for centuries, there has been racial injustice for black people and any other people of color. and if these riots are finally making people see that, then they should most certainly continue. black lives matter more than anything right now and EVERYONE should be able to see that and help fight alongside it. thank you i know this project is pretty serious, but this topic is serious too and i wanted to just discuss it. anyway, #blm :)
