((press space/click for more)) AA these are probably my favorite pieces of artwork I've drawn in a while. The design on this character is immaculate- *chefs kiss* Thank you so much for hosting this DTA! Anyhow, now onto the character info- --- +BIO+ Name- Amaris Alterio Age- (unknown) Family- either dead or unheard of Gender- male Sexuality- pansexual Location- Amaris currently resides in the citadel of VoidCity --- Amaris is a quiet and reserved man, he prefers to spend his time alone rather than engaging in small conversation, thus, he has little to no friends. He enjoys practicing his craft and building his experience within the magical field in order to appease the higher beings which he respects deeply. --- Amaris is light on his feet and stands taller than his actual height. He has a welcoming stance, but his gaze deters people. Amaris prefers to dress in traditional clothing despite the modern age his story is set it. (backstory excluded) --- Amaris was born the son of two unfortunate humans. He was thrust into a cold and dark world filled with poverty and distrust, a world lacking love. He was to inherent no wealth or anything of the sort. Although very unfortunate, young Amaris seemed to have a carefree nature which was quickly dulled by the overwhelming depression of his parents. Amaris' parents would often pray to the higher beings for a disaster to strike and kill him, they could not stand knowing their bright young child would live a wasted life. Feeling the guilt of wishing death upon his own child Amaris' father left in the dead of night and fled. Rumors say he was struck down by the higher beings and his spirit was forced to watch his only child and now widowed mother grow old alone. Overcome by grief Amaris' mother could not bear to look her child of disaster in the eyes, she scraped together the last of her savings and arranged him to be sent away to a boarding school. Since then years passed by like a racing horse. Amaris was soon a young boy alone in his boarding school. He would often be seen gazing out a window during his lessons daydreaming of having a different life. As a child Amaris loathed boarding school, his only other thoughts would be of his mother whom he soon learned to resent after feeling that she abandoned him. As Amaris grew older his fears of returning home grew and as a result of that he fled the boarding school still a young boy. Now homeless and unschooled Amaris frequently wandered the streets stealing and temporarily staying with other residents before sneaking out before dawn. It was one such ordinary day for Amaris until he met a man who went by the name of Cyprian Prestigiatore. This man was unlike any man Amaris had ever seen, standing tall and lean with piercing eyes that seemed to cut through his very soul. As cruel as this man looked he offered Amaris a permanent home in his manor in exchange for Amaris' devotion and dedication to practice a new skill, magic. Amaris was a naive boy and quickly accepted Cyprian's offer. Off he went to live with this strange man. Amaris flourished under Cyprian's guidance, magic seemed to be as natural as human emotion for Amaris, he took great strides forwards and with those strides his physical appearance began to alter. Changes to his outward appearance were not brought on by any sort of spell, it was simply the magic forming within his body. However, things did not stay golden for Amaris. Cyprian had a jealous son, a biological son who would stop at nothing for his father's approval. A son who would starve himself for devotion and for greatness. As such, this son hated Amaris with every fiber of his being, his hatred was unmatched by anyone Amaris had encountered before. It was a desperate hatred which brought Amaris a deep inexplicable sadness. Despite many years of attempting to brighten things between himself and Cyprian's son all of his attempts were squashed. As such Amaris began to develop an all to familiar hatred for Cyprian's son. His hatred reached a point to which Amaris would pray for Cyprian's son to meet a horrible demise. This feud ended in flames with Cyrpian's son attempting to murder Amaris while he slept. Cyprian's son set Amaris' room ablaze and knelt over him with a cruel grin, eager to watch Amaris burn from the safety of his own magic. Amaris awoke choking on smoke, he was fatigued from training the day before, but leapt out of his bed and hurriedly ran for the window. Coughing and barely able to inhale he shouldered the glass to no avail, eventually crumpling to his knees ready to accept his fate. Perhaps it was guilt brought onto Cyprian's son, Amaris' will, or even his father's spirit that freed Amaris from his room and ushered him towards his survival, but whatever it was remains unknown to this day. Scarred and alone Amaris nursed himself back to health and began a new life. --- ((okay that's all I could write, my eyes are exploding, props for sticking through it all lmao))
