OKAY! so i hadn't done that sort of painting-y style i was obsessed with in october all year, and i wanted to get back to it. i took two characters i was endlessly familiar with and gave them the treatment. i LOVE this picture. it is my favorite ever maybe 27. two characters for a comic idea! basically i was thinking, "what if a child who was kidnapped by the fae never got rescued?" and came up with this. hester was raised by the fae queen osmia since she was a baby, and is incredibly polite and unphased by anything as a result. meanwhile, socks is a rambunctious werewolf who is just trying to get by in a town where, due to its history in monster hunting, creatures like her are heavily demonized. the story follows hester as she tries to rekindle a relationship with her biological aunt, a retired monster hunter who had cut off connection between fae and humans thirteen years ago.
28. this is queen osmia from the above story! she is the monarch of lyrastine castle and a former pirate. her and magdalena, hester's aunt, kind of have a divorced parent vibe since the two of them were arch rivals when magdalena was in her prime and the two of them had some sliiiiightly gay undertones 29. i made a playlist called "hrrrnnggg.... söngs"... and this is the thumbnail. i made it myself do you like it 30. magdalena! i drew this while listening to spirit phone, which is required listening for all classy gays. (also thats not how hands work what was i doing) 31. osmia again! 32. okay, so i was wondering how to draw makeup, and i still can't do anything subtle looking but i think i got the sort of eyeshadow/lipstick thing pinned down a bit. this is poppet, they're a nonbinary colosseum fighter from space along with their partner, pippin, who is genderfluid. 33. don't know who she is, but i drew her with the same color palette as poppet and pippin and she is definitely a lesbian 34. given the palette i picked, it is a little hard to communicate pippin's being black, but i think i got the idea down alright. more detailed drawings of these two later 35. okay, so i don't even like this drawing all that much, but it kind of started this routine i have now where i draw a picture and listen to an album every night. this was made because i had such a vivid image of ziggy stardust (the character specifically) in an interview with an anchorperson or two who was just fawning over him. i decided that i wanted to listen to some music while i drew so i plugged in my earbuds and turned hunky dory on, followed by the rise and fall of ziggy stardust. after i drew this i realized the lightning bolt thing isn't even from ziggy, its from a different album entirely but it was too late to go back by then 36. there is no way you can see this, and i never even finished it, but i wanted to make a comic about the comedy potential of a horror musical but then got sidetracked. bottom line is i wouldn't know whether to laugh or scream if some girl got speared through the heart and then saw just started singing about his childhood 37. piknachu 38. a mermaid mobster and her warthog centaur cohort, inspired by a conversation i had with a friend! they've got like a buddy cop dynamic where the mermaid is literally the most cunning criminal on the planet, but she can't move on land so she has to work with this centaur who is dumb as rocks if she wants to get anything done 39. i have a playlist just called "eat the rich" (it's got some utah phillips and sweet honey in the rock on it) and i drew this brick for the thumbnail 40. not super proud of this, kinda ripped off osmia's design, but when inspiration strikes, it strikes. anyway i listen to tally hall's "good and evil" while i drew this so it was definitely a good use of my time 41. there are two types of people (screenshot from a minecraft realm i'm in) 42. so my friend has this podcast and i thought this drawing of a fox i did might make a good thumbnail! he requested i put a galaxy behind it so i did. anyway i'm pretty sure i'll be the only guest on there most days so that'll be fun 43. had an idea for a novella where selkies are used as a metaphor for transgenderism. i thought of this because me and my mom had just watched a movie called "the secret of roan inish", which is the most irish movie ever (although, funnily enough, it was made by the same guy who made the most texan movie ever). anyway i tried to make this drawing look all sketchy and it didn't work out 44. pippin again, this time in actual real human colors! i drew this while listening to queen for the first time, so that was FUN. 45. apparently two sides of a three and a half hour album are longer than i thought they were, so i ended up having time to draw poppet! this is maybe one of my favorite drawings ever actually? i just adore that i managed to make this pose, and the colors and patterns are so nice and...... YEAH!! 46. after listening to killer queen on repeat a couple of times, i had the idea for a movie about an eighteenth century englishlady who murders people finally getting brought to justice. pictured here is her ex, kitty oppenheimer, who she once tried to kill by knocking her out and burying her in a grave during a snowstorm. miraculously, she survived, and six years later she and her boyfriend end up getting invited to a ball held by the culprit herself, where kitty ends up giving the gal what she deserves. 47. just some color and design practice! i drew this while playing dnd today. also, in case you were worried, she is wearing stockings it's just kind of hard to tell. also, i'm very proud of the way i drew her dress in the image... anyway yeah that's all folks!
