Don't forget to love, favorite and share, or follow if you want similar content If this gets enough support I might make Stage 2!! This project can serve as a #Castlevania engine of sorts. -------CREDITS AND TRIVIA BELOW--------------------- Credit to @griffpatch's Coin Dash scroll engine as a base, heavily modified by me. Credit to for tile scrolling engine Credit to the Konami and spritersresource for making and ripping this amazing art from this iconic franchise Rest made by me. Huge thanks to , his game, "Scratcher's Quest" hooked me on the CV franchise. Castlevania is owned by Konami. ---------------------------TRIVIA---------------------------- 1. Originally I was going to program all subweapons, I figured this was only going to be a waste as it's only a demo, and this demo's been waiting to long. 2. I had programmed the game's menu, but for the same reasons, decided agaisnt it, and Scratch doesn't really save data so, this leads me to believe future Scratchvanias should use the old school password system instead. 3. Due to the abscence of Stage 2 this demo doesn't contain Maria, plus apparently she was very buggy in development from the developers of the original game, so good riddance for me I guess. 4. This remake was first conceived in 2016 alongside my Wild Guns project, but, due to various reasons I was never able to do something with it, be it lack of programming knowledge, procrastination, or other reasons such as school AND university, including almost completely abandoning scratch around 2018 and early 2019 Includes all subweapons and Item Crashes when pressing 'A' Richter's engine here isn't used in the final game due to convoluted coding, not helping matters was the fact that I got confused revisiting it thanks to not having variable names suited for archiving, since it was so long ago, the subweapons also had to be reworked for the same reasons. 5. One of my proudest achievements was the cutscenes in general, which also, were made around 2016-2017 or so, the thought of conveying an animated cutscene in just one sprite was mindblowing to me back then. 6. The stairs were a pain to program haha :) don't understand how Konami devs could do this and improving on them 10 games straight, no wonder the Metroidvanias dropped them althogether. 7. The project had to be resized from 180% to 160% to accomodate the stages and enemies better, not 1:1 accurate but close enough
