Don’t ask me why you can’t move—read the instructions below. Or just try hitting different keys, I don’t know. Default settings: For the platform: WASD to move, space to shoot cannon, arrow keys to direct cannon. OR Arrow keys to move, space to shoot cannon, WASD to direct cannon. For the blade: Arrow keys to move left and right, z to jump and x to attack. OR A and D to move left and right, space to jump, and up arrow to attack. You can change these settings in the "settings" section of the game. To change these, click on “settings” in the menu, and change the keys as you will. There’s a default setting for arrow keys and WASD for both, and each key can be set however you’d like. Gameplay: There are two modes, Rush and Select. Rush has you fight all the bosses in a row—if you die, you reset. Select lets you choose which boss you want to fight from a menu. As the bosses are not easy, I’d start with select until you’re comfortable enough with the bosses to try to take on Rush. Tips: Each boss has at some sort of tell that tells you what their next move will be. Some of these are not shown super well (hey I’m new at this boss thing), but they’re there. Once you can get into a rhythm with the bosses, they should be much simpler. Individual boss tips: Hands: keep on moving, and watch out for the attack that shoots spray in all direction. Be cautious, as this boss has a lot of health. Monitor: Keep moving, and pay close attention to what the monitor is doing. If it blinks in certain ways, then different parts of the arena are going to be affected. Face: Keep on your toes. I usually try to find a safe spot where I can attack him and avoid attacks, but you have to be ready to move if this boss moves to an offensive position. Cannon: attack quickly, get to a sweet spot where it won't teleport often, and attack as much as possible. You: Be cautious, but most of their attacks will just be on the ground, so be ready to jump over them. Spinny guy: If he starts retreating, he's going to shoot tracking missile. He has multiple tells like this, so pay attention to what he does before each attack. He doesn't have a lot of health, so it's good to overwhelm him. Knight: Jump and angle your blade down to deal a large amount of damage, but be on your guard for different kinds of attacks. Fly: Stay on the wall and slowly pick it if as it attacks you. Be cautious, but this boss doesn't have much variety. Bowman: You can reflect the bowman's arrows back towards them. Besides that, just keep on approaching and attacking, and be ready for a fast volley of arrows. Shade: Be slow and steady with this boss, as the Shade has a great deal of health. Be sure to spend more time dodging his attacks, and always be ready. ???: Always be ready for anything. This boss has the most health of any of the bosses, and will gain moves as you fight. He gets easier as your health drops, however. Other: None of the platform bosses are canon (heh) unless they’re in the actual game. The Blade bosses will likely be canon in the blade game I have plotted out. There’s an eleventh boss that can only be accessed by beating every other boss in the game. It’s my favorite one, probably, which makes its limited publicity unfortunate. Questions? Comments? Concerns? Larger concerns? Comment below. There's probably a ton of glitches between these guys.
This thing took me a lot to create. Each boss took several hours to draw out (I’m bad at art), plan, and then try to figure out how to get what was in my head into the game. This thing’s got somewhere around 5000 blocks (is there a way to check beyond checking each of the sprites? I don’t know), 28 sprites, and other stuff, too. I’d guess this took me around 40-50 hours. Order I created the bosses in: 1. Hands/HIM 2. Spinny guy 3. Cannon 4. Monitor 5. Face 6. Knight (second guy on the second row) 7. Fly (third guy of the second row) 8. Bowman/Birgette (fourth guy on the second row) 9. You 10 shade Thanks to: Hollow knight and undertale for their wonderful music, as well as some boss inspiration that I’m sure snuck in from the two games. @ijsquires for the face boss concept and some art.
