Press space This story takes place in Aug. 1945. In World War 2. Flavia named the rabbit Peace in hope that she could find peace for her village, just like she found Peace. WW2 was started when Hitler invaded Poland, and a few days later France and Britain declared war on Germany. It lasted from Sep. 1, 1939, to Sep. 2, 1945. 80+ million people died. I pray that there will never be another war, ever. This is serious, it isn't a joke. Now, I'll tell you a few things about me; I'm 65% German, 45% American. The USA is my birth state. My mom's family is German, my dad's family is a little German but mostly American. I speak very little German, and I have never been to Germany. I dont tell many people this, but its true. 5 people in my family have been in the military. 2 of them have been in a war. I've heard stories of what it is like from them. Its a serious and hard job.
