The fourth beta edition of my major Zelda game! Also, please play in fullscreen. It's prettier if you do. Don't worry about reading the instructions. Link pretty much tells himself how to play, just remember that he aims at where your mouse pointer points. But if you want to know the changes between this version and the last, then continue reading. MAJOR features and changes: 1. INVENTORY!!! Press "e" to open it up! You can use this to view your achievements and save your progress. It also serves as an alternate way to equip items. 2. Saving! You can load from saved games from the title screen, and save your game in your inventory. Please note that save codes may not be compatible between different Beta versions of this game. 3. Achievements! View them in your inventory. There isn't a story yet, so it gives you something to do in the meantime. Also, there won't only be three in the end. 4. You can now stuff tiny Chuchus into bottles. Why don't you try letting one out to see what happens? 5. Hovering over an object with your mouse now tells you what happens when you click it! It's called "Action Hints", and can be turned off in the "options" section of the inventory. 6. You now have a bow! Switch to it by pressing '2', and shoot enemies with arrows! Hold click to charge, but don't overcharge. A better bow charge means more accuracy, more speed, and more damage. 7. Optional difficulties for all of the casuals out there! 8. You can now continue your game after you die! You'll be met with a rupee punishment for dying, though. Minor features and changes: 1. Sandstorms in Gerudo Desert now have high winds that push you backwards. 2. Buying a shield now automatically equips it. 3. Shields can now collect hearts and rupees. 4. Drinking a Guardian Potion now makes your shield completely invincible instead of mostly invincible. 5. The map (press "m" to open) is now more polished. 6. To quickly switch a shield, you must now hold the space bar and press a number key, as opposed to the inconvenience that existed in Beta 03. 7. Slightly tweaked loot from trees and large Chuchus to make combat more rewarding than logging. 8. Altered the stats on some shields (Deku Shield now has 1 less second of recovery, Hylian Shield now has 1 more defense, Divine Shield now has 1 more second of recovery but also has a new ability). 9. Chuchus can no longer hurt you if touching you and your shield at the same time. This doesn't change much for Chuchus, but I want it to match the planned damage system for upcoming monsters. 10. Pause screens now blot out the background. 11. The game now has 20% less trees! 12. The intensity of a lightning flash is now proportionate to its randomly selected volume. 13. I am now the only one who can use built-in cheat buttons and test buttons. 14. Refactored Link's costume detection code. 15. The game now gives you a "friendly reminder" when you have low health. 16. In order to prevent a few bugs and to stop merchants from interrupting battle, you now must press "t" to buy items from merchants. 17. You can now press "t" to close a trade. 18. You now have the option to permanently make all HUDs transparent.
If you want anything added to the game, just POST it in the comments! I'm not a busy man, so I will be able to read it and consider. HEY HEY HEY! After a month of suspense that no one had, there's a new version of the game out! Check it out at https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/26988860/ Please don't comment any bugs you find in this version. Do it for the latest version. Fixed bugs: Bug 6: Fog sometimes didn't transition and stopped appearing entirely. Bug 7: Some minor events (weather and merchant AI) could progress while the game was paused. Bug 8: The Master Sword sliced every time you opened or closed the trading menu, which put cooldown on your sword. Bug 9: Link made an unintentional clockwork sound when burning. Bug 10: Starting a trade while holding down your mouse and then closing the trade caused the bought item to stay visible until the mouse was released. Bug 11: Deku Shields were overpriced by 10 rupees. Present bugs: Bug 1: Trees can be used as a method of transport when you take damage. Bug 12: Traveling to Death Mountain Summit while fire is about to where off makes the fire disappear on Link, even though he's still on fire.
