My cat passed on last night. Please do not offer condolences. I don't want to hear "Sorry for your loss" or anything like that. Here's a poem I wrote. It's not great, but I needed to get it off my chest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Did you have to be so cruel to us, Death? Did you have to make him so cold? Did you have to rub it in our faces like that? Death, did you really have to make him so stiff when we carried him out of the house? I already knew you had won. I knew that a week ago before he was even gone. You didn't have to rub it in my face. You didn't have to make him so stiff, Legs and tail stuck in the position he lay in when you vanquished our brave fighter, When we carried him to the rosebushes by the fence, And laid his rigor-rigid body in the hole next to the place where Ashes is sleeping. I already knew my Sammy was gone. You didn't need to rub it in my face like that, Death. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yes, I did used to have pink hair when I was in middle school. The song is by @katelynm1206, a friend on Scratch who also passed away recently.
