Moonkit and Nightkit were best friends. They did everything together. They played all the games together, they slept together once Glacierkit and Moonkit's mothers had started sleeping in the warriors den again. They had so much fun together, they lost track of time. It's been... moons. Nothing important had happened. Everything was peaceful between the four Clans, except for the occasional border fight that Moonkit was told about every once in a while. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting." Robinstar meowed. /What? A clan meeting this early in the morning?/ Moonkit thought, still sleepy. She padded out of the den with the rest of the kits. /I wonder what it could be?/ "Today is a special day, as four kits have been with us for six moons." /Ah! It had been 5 moons since they came here, which means they are 6 moons old now! And Glacierkit is 6 moons old too!/ Moonkit remembered. /Wow! Time passes so fast!/ "Nightkit, step forward. From this day on, your name will be Nightpaw. Your mentor will be... Ivywing." Ivywing stepped forward, seeming surprised that she was a mentor. "Cloudkit, step forward. You will now be known as Cloudpaw. Your mentor will be... Rainstripe." Rainstripe stepped forward, looking at Cloudpaw with a gleam in his eye. They seemed to be a good match to Moonkit. Rainstripe would be patient with Cloud/paw/'s shy personality. "Smokekit, step forward. Your name will now be Smokepaw, and your mentor will be..." Robinstar paused on this one. "... Windthorn." Robinstar decided. Windthorn was also excited to be a mentor, and glanced at Ivywing. /Oh, right! Windthorn and Ivywing are littermates! They are both mentors at the same time./ "And finally, Glacierkit. You are now Glacierpaw. Your mentor will be Willowpelt." Glacierpaw glanced at Willowpelt. Willowpelt smiled softly back at him. Willowpelt knew pf Glacierpaw's shyness. "And that's it. Meeting dismissed." Robinstar jumped down from the highrock. "Wow! You guys are apprentices now!" Moonkit meowed to her friends with an excited look on her face.
