Red is for countries affected by American imperialism. 1. The US. Though it seems weird, our entire country was actually stolen from the Native Americans who used to live here. 2. Canada. In the Revolutionary War, we invaded Quebec, and we also attacked them through the Lake George in the War of 1812. If you don't want to count Canada as independent back then, fine. Colour in Britain instead. 3. The Congo. We helped the Belgians assassinate Patrice Lumumba because the Belgians wanted to get their colony back. 4. Mexico. In the Mexican-American War, we took half of their country. There are other examples. 5. Liberia. We started it as a colony for former slaves. Literally, a COLONY. (We also had other colonies.) 6. Egypt. We helped the British and French in their attempt to reclaim the Suez Canal after Gamel Abdel Nasser (RIP) took it back for Egypt. 7. Saudi Arabia. We landed troops on their soil, ostensibly to protect them from Iraq, and never left. Hmm, wonder why...maybe because of OIL! 8. Israel/Palestine. We are giving Israel millions of dollars to continue their oppression of the innocent Palestinians living in West Bank and Gaza. 9. Iran/Iraq. I'm lumping these two together because the imperialism in question is our aiding both sides in the Iran-Iraq War. 10. Korea. We helped Syngman Rhee continue his oppression of his own people during the Korean War, and deliberately provoked China into getting involved. 11. Kuwait. We landed in their territory and helped to prop up their brutal monarchy for the sole purpose of oil. 12. Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Look up the Vietnam War. Quite simple. 13. Indonesia. We forced Suharto out of power, and released mobs to destroy the PKI by doing [censored] to their members. 14. Philippines. We annexed them, and destroyed their independence movement. And when I say destroyed, I mean it. 15. Russia (USSR). We sent troops there until 1920 to suppress the October Revolution. 16. China. We both attempted to suppress Mao Tse-tung's revolution in 1949, and also the Boxer Revolution. And then we get mad at them for Tienanmen Square, after doing the SAME FRIGGING THING! 17. Japan. WWII. Self-Explanatory. Also, the Perry Expedition. 18. Taiwan. We helped to support Jiang's brutal regime after we failed to stop Mao from coming to power. 19. South and Central America (except Panama and Colombia). We installed brutal dictators because we didn't like that fact that democratically elected presidents were too left wing. I can give specific examples if necessary. 20. Panama/Colombia. We helped rebels in Panama overthrow the Colombian government, and then forced the Panamanian Government to let us build and keep control of the Panama Canal. 21. Italy. We interfered in their 1948 elections to help the Christian Democrats beat the Communists. 22. Greece. We helped a N*zi sympathizer stay in power during the Greek Civil War, to prevent a Communist takeover. 23. Turkey. Remember the "Cuban" Missile Crisis? Well, it actually started because we put Jupiter missiles in Turkey, pointing right at the USSR.
The map is from https://mapchart.net/world.html I did this from memory, but I mostly got it from the books A People's History of the United States, written by Howard Zinn, and the Untold History of the United States, by Oliver Stone and Peter Kuznick. Wikipedia also helped. I am shading Russia in red due to our involvement in the October Revolution, and I'm too lazy to colour in all of the former USSR. Suggest more in the comments! This is kinda just a more informational version of this: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/399752858/
