Math plus current events: (I made this project yesterday) I am surprised by how many people misunderstand exponential growth. An invisible virus is able to spread exponentially. Yet some policy-makers fail to grasp how quickly exponential growth may become uncontrollable. This project is inspired by a math problem that I have given to my students. I started with coding the math. It took several tries. After succeeding with that, I built out the story. For example, I added the balls at the beginning to visually show what doubling looks like. I am not thrilled with the Abba music that I coded. (Perhaps my sheet music choice could have been better.) I like to use the "clean up blocks" so that my code is neat before I share it.
