WARNING (more of a fun fact): The F-35B is a V/STOL (Vertical / Short Take Off and Landing) aircraft this means that it can be like a helicopter or a plane. The plane will act differently in different modes. (1/2 to change modes) The modes will be shown in the top right corner. GOOD LUCK. Thanks to CHOMPYCHEESE for his x/y scroll and shadow effects. This simulator is based of of the USMC (marine corps) f-35 B model. The A model is for the air force, has an internal gun (25mm GUA-22/A 4-barrel, 182 rounds), G-limits 9.0. The B model is for the marines, has V/STOL capabilities, G-limits 7.0. The C model is for the navy, has upgraded landing gear & arresting hook, longer range, and has a larger wingspan & length. This simulator is based of of the b model. The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II started in a program called the JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) against the Boeing X-32. The JSF was created in 1997 for a stealth multirole fighter to replace the F-16, A-10, F/A-18, and AV-8B aircraft. The f-35A&C models could carry 18,000 lbs of weapons and the B model 15,000 lbs. The weapons the f-35 can carry include: GUNS: internal GUA-22/A, 182 rounds (A model only) AIR-AIR MISSILES: AIM-120 AMRAAM AIM-9 Sidewinder AIM-132 ASRAAM MBDA Meteor AIR-GROUND MISSILES: AGM-158 JASSM SPEAR 3 SOM Joint Air-to-Ground Missile Joint Strike Missile ANTI-RADIATION MISSILES: AGM-88 HARM ANTI-SHIP MISSILES: AGM-158C LRASM BOMBS: JDAM (included in simulator) Paveway series LGB GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bomb AGM-154 JSOW Mk 77 Mk 20 Rockeye II Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser NUCLEAR BOMBS: B61 mod 12 The B/C models didn't have an internal gun. Instead it was replaced by an external gun pod carrying 220 rounds. The pod could be replaced by a rear facing radar, electronic warfare suite, or an aerial reconnaissance pod. The A model is worth US$77.9M, the B model US$101.3M, and the C model US$94.4M.
