Press SPACE to see a lightning!
Lightning! Powerful effect believed to be, along with its sibling the thunder, the mighty will of gods. Nowadays we discovered that Zeus has little influence on these dangerous yet wondrous bolts, as we found that they are an electrostatic discharge through air. Yet they aren't fully understood: strange effects happens over the clouds, in the opposite direction. Red or blue halos with obscure names like "ELVEN", "sprites" or "blue beams" are very elusive and we don't really know much about them. Also, there are other phenomenons, like the alleged "ball lightning", that needs confirmation. I tried to reconstruct the path of a lightning that starts from the clouds, goes through a random path, and discharges on the ground. I am aware that lightnings go also from ground to cloud or from cloud to cloud, but I kept it simple. Also, in nature, randomness isn't really a thing. Don't want to mess around with chaos theory, but lightnings aren't random: they follow the path where electrons find less resistance. That's how lightning rods work: made of very conductive metal they are the route with less resistance to the ground, so they act like a shortcut.
