Play in FULLSCREEN for best experience! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Simple game. You just run, jump and play around... No. Not at all. It might appear that way from the start, but when you start pressing different buttons, you'll be in for a sweet adventure! Story: You're just an innocent cat that gained superpowers for no apparent reason... In this world, there are some strange occurrences I guess; but all of that stops when an evil cat comes flying in on you when you're just toying around. Rude, huh? But he doesn't care, he's just there to teach you a lesson that being super is a responsibility, and that you have to do something actually useful to the world with your powers--fighting evil. He talks to you about that for a bit until he flies out to take over the town... You just got here in an open space to test out your cool powers, and now you actually have to use them to help? Well, maybe being super isn't that fun after all... Controls: Press Q to enable power charging. Then hold down E to start bringing in energy and let go when the power level is at CHARGED. When your power is all charged up, you'll get an aura around you and you'll fully shine with magic. All you'll have to do now is press the way you want to go, and you'll BLAST there! There's also another power you can do which will give you an immunity shield. The immunity shield will block brute force, but won't be 100% effective against magical spells such as fireballs. To use your shield, press F when you're charged up. You will also gain the shield straight after you've been attacked, but only on the things the shield is effective at blocking. This shield is to prevent too much damage spam. The shield will last 1.5 seconds. To use the healing power, press R when you're fully charged up. If there's room for more health, it will heal you 5 health. If your health gets too full while healing, the healing will stop. Basically, you'll be healed 5 health and you won't heal over your max health. To walk, use either arrow keys or WASD. To start the story, press P. Play in FULLSCREEN for best experience! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I worked really hard to make this have a lot of atmosphere, where I try hard to make it feel more like you're in the game. Fullscreen mode can help it feel more real, as there's more pixels in fullscreen for more detailing, and the screen is bigger for gameplay, making it feel more focused on the game. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One heavy inspiration I had for this project was a game on Roblox called "World of Magic" This is the link: https://www.roblox.com/games/3272915504/ Basically, I loved the idea of a variety of different spells that could just launch you up in the air or shoot pulses of energy, and I wanted to create a simple type of magic that would be consistent throughout the project. The inspiration for the Evil Cat was that supervillains are just dumb. You don't always have to fight the superhero before you can do stuff such as destroy. Once you shoot a beam of power or something, there's really no stopping it. That building is just BOOM! And it seems that in about every single superhero movie you watch, you won't be able to find a superhero that just uses their powers for nothing. They will always be fighting evil, and the Evil Cat noticed that somebody was left alone from that. I didn't want the Evil Cat to give up or anything when just a quarter of his health is lost, because really, why would you be crying over that when you're a supernatural? I wanted to make this project a bit more real, and not just hyped up and put tension in just for the sake of it. That's most of why I made this project in the first place, and I needed another large scale project to work on because I knew I had the inspiration. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reported Bugs: 1. Power jumping or dashing will leave behind the charge outline for a split second. (More frequent on slow devices) 2. Using your powers and recharging too fast will result in the max power aura appear when you're still charging. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fixed Reported Bugs: 1. Pressing both keys for the charged jump and charged dash at the same time will use both powers. 2. Dashing while touching the edge of the screen will leave you with the charge outline still on the cat. Once you use another power, it will go away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
