Click the green flag to start; add nouns in when asked. "If you are a writer, or hope to be one, similar lists, dredged out of the lopside of your brain, might well help you discover you, even as I flopped around and finally found me." - Ray Bradbury
I was feeling stumped about what an interesting thing might be to do with lists...I spent some time thinking about lists and encryption, but then I did a deep dive into some of my art assignment books + stumbled upon Maria Popova's writing on Ray Bradbury and Susan Sontag's lists. I love lists - I write to-do lists, I write pro/con lists, I make lists as a way of doodling and lists as a way of organizing my brain. One of Bradbury's list habits was to make lists of nouns, then write something about those nouns. I found this strategy and these quotes inspiring today, and I hope you might too, if you're feeling creatively blocked! https://www.brainpickings.org/2013/10/18/ray-bradbury-on-lists/ The code doesn't look that complicated, but I spent a lot of time struggling with abstracting and passing lists and variables. Even though you can broadcast a variable, you can't (seemingly) receive a broadcasted variable; at first I was broadcasting <<i>> but then I needed a separate stack for every single value of i...then realized I could broadcast <<costume>> and then just switch costumes to the #i...also was creating custom blocks because I'm trying to be better about abstractions, BUT then learned that I couldn't pass lists into custom blocks...ahh! A tip for others about making this project is that you can’t abstract everything because lists aren’t passed easily into custom blocks... I learned about import/export of lists from @giulioooo!
