(this is a legit quote from me lmao i like it so imma pretend they said it at one point in their life) akumu (nightmare in japanese; ty @kurohariko for telling me names!! ^v^) they/them (genderfae) akumu's parents were assassinated due to a target mix-up; from that moment on they literally snapped (turned insane in case you don't know what I mean lol) and although acted normal, didn't have the regular mind anymore. From that moment on, they also had a phobia of mirrors; that was the few times that you could actually get them to still be sane, because whenever they look into a mirror, they see the scene when their parents were assassinated. They were sent to live with adoptive parents and pushed their adoptive brother off the roof of the building they lived in because of a reason I haven't thought up yet; to hide this Akumu claimed they had a 'yin-yang eye' which allowed people to see (and actually communicate with) ghosts, and told their adoptive parents that their brother jumped off himself due to depression after telling Akumu. They didn't actually have a yin-yang eye; however they were smart enough to figure out what might haunt what people in their town and made up stories of 'ghosts which haunted' the people in their town. One day when they were chasing after a cripple claiming a child was hanging onto his leg, they encountered a stranger who turned out to be named Yami (again, thank you @kurohariko for giving me the names :'0). Yami asked Akumu if he had any ghosts haunting him, and since Akumu didn't know anything about him, they had to guess and surprisingly guessed correct; however what they didn't know was that Yami actually had a yin-yang eye. He asked them 'do you really have a yin-yang eye?' and Akumu replied with yes; 'Then why can't you see the boy with bleeding holes all over his body behind you?' That drove Akumu to the breaking point of the breaking point, and they commited self-oof later that day.
