hi there. while being on scratch, i knew i was bound to come across some unfavorable things. it's time to address them. i don't mean to rant, but... these are topics that need to be dealt with. 1. homophobia and transphobia. i don't understand why people have to care at all about a relationship that isn't even theirs. i don't understand why heterosexual cis people are seen as more "moral" then LGBTQ+ people. just based on who they love and what pronouns they use. if somebody prefers to be called "her", you call them "her"! it doesn't matter what they were born as. you don't choose their pronouns. they do. it takes just as much effort to be kind as it does to be unkind. choose wisely. furthermore, who are you to tell people who they should love? loving someone who is the same gender as you is love. consensual love is never immoral. periodt. people love each other, and they want to be together, and that's beautiful! there is no excuse for ruining it based on your personal beliefs. ALSO saying "i respect LGBTQ+ i just don't agree with it" is homophobia! respecting someone, but not thinking they should be allowed to get married, or go to the bathroom in the bathroom they feel comfortable in, or use the pronouns they identify as, is not respect! lgbtq+ people exist! lgbtq+ is not a lifestyle! being gay is not the same as being vegan or preferring dogs over cats! you don't choose it! they love and have feelings and emotions just like you! i don't get why people say "i don't believe in LGBTQ+". they're not unicorns. they're people who happen to be a different sexuality and/or gender. get over it. religion is not an excuse for hate. no religion specifically tells you that lgbtq+ people are unholy and shouldn't have rights. no religion says it's okay to hate somebody. most religions are about being a kind, good person. does homophobia really align with those beliefs? also straight pride is stupid and not okay. straight people are not minorities. lgbtq+ people have been oppressed throughout history, and still are in a lot of countries! straight people are not refused healthcare. straight people are not purposely referred to by the incorrect pronouns. straight people never had to fight to be allowed to be with the person they love. they do not need a celebration. 2. racism. stop saying "all lives matter"! obviously all lives matter. but we don't need to be talking about all lives. different races have had different experiences, and historically, white people have had the advantage. it is selfish to drag white people into the equation while black people have been oppressed throughout history, not white people. saying all lives matter in response to black lives matter is insensitive to the history of slavery, segregation, and racism that black people have faced. black lives matter does not mean "black lives matter only". it means "black lives matter, too." remember that people are not born hating each other. it is a learned habit. it is never okay to think less of someone because of their skin. 3. copying. copying someone else's work and passing it off as your own is never, ever okay. when you're an adult, that's plagiarism. not only is it stealing something that someone spent time on, it's honestly a bit lazy. it shows that you simply can't make projects/thumbnails/descriptions on your own, so instead you steal somebody else's. personally i'd rather see a messy desc. that you made yourself than an organized desc. that you copied. recently, there have been entire copied accounts! that isn't okay. people put a lot of effort into their profile and to steal it for attention is sad. besides, it makes you look bad because everybody knows it's copied. the worst is impersonating them! identity theft is not a joke, jim! if you admire someone's profile, it's better to tell them and compliment their work than steal it to attempt to get some of their attention. it's petty. 4. raiding. someone. raided. the. IKEA. studio. in case you don't know what studio raiding is, it's when someone drastically changes the title, desc, projects, curators, etc in a studio, usually by deleting everything and changing the title and desc. that's so rude! someone puts effort and time into something, and people are having a good time, and everything is fine, until someone decides to destroy all that? how would you feel if someone threw your work right in the garbage? all of these people are trying to restore it back to what it was, but it probably won't be the same. i don't know what the raider's purpose for raiding the studio was. frankly, i don't care, because that won't make it right. there is no reason to ruin something fun out of spite. i think whoever did it should own up to their mistake, and apologize. okay that's all, i might add more later. sorry for ranting.
