When you get an item, press i to view the inventory. Type 1 to use an item and press 2 to put an item away, then type what item you want to use/put away. When you have an item, press space to use it. -Click on characters to interact with them. Some people say different stuff each time, so go back and talk to people you already clicked on! -Click the red arrows to move to different backgrounds -There are some mini-games, but the instructions are provided when you reach them -Press m to play music (just one song for now, "aLIEz". Explanation and credits below) Ask if there's any confusion about the gameplay or the story! I plan to update this more soon if I'm not too lazy or busy! XD Right now the game ends after you find all the sons and the background switches back to Valinor! Let me know if I need to fix anything and comment what I should add! I plan to do five levels in this part (part one), and then maybe make more games in the series if there's interest or if I want to. Note from @Skylor_Kai: Hi everyone! For those who don't know, I am a big fan of the Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship of the Ring movie came out the year I was born, and I grew up with the movies (don't do the math XD). I read the books a few years ago, which were equally as good! During quarantine, I finally read the Silmarillion, and I LOVED it! Despite the somewhat complicated and descriptive language and many MANY names and places, I was so invested in the story and the lore! So I decided to spread the epicness (is that a real word?) by making a game of the first few characters (I skipped the stuff with the Valar though lol). This story is so well thought out and very layered, so I didn't include everything. Also, this is a WIP (work in progress) and just the first part of this series I hope to make. My goal is to educate people on the amazing lore of The Lord of the Rings Universe and Middle Earth without being overly complicated, for those who are not yet ready to tackle the Silmarillion. Or for people who have already read/love the book like I do and just want to view this silly fan project I made! But I encourage everyone to try the Silmarillion if you are interested in The Lord of the Rings lore, because it has so much to offer in story telling, back story, world building, and character development. But don't get too attached to the characters, because the story is pretty dark and sad... and most of them don't make it all the way to the end... This game ends when you talk to Finwe after finding your sons and go back to Valmar. Melkor and Manwe are just staring at each other because I didn't update it from there XD Note: I am not the end all be all expert of Middle Earth lore/knowledge. I had to fact check the Wiki and Index/Appendix several times, and watched recap videos on YouTube after I read the Silmarillion (the first time I read it I listened to the audio book XD I read it twice!) I'll link some helpful videos below and the Wiki. Links: Wiki: https://lotr.fandom.com/wiki/Main_Page Summery video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSPlIdRX_c0 If you read this far comment your favorite Lord of the Rings and Silmarillion character! Mine are Aragorn, and Feanor and Thingol! :D I also love Maedhros and Maglor!
Credits!! \/ Characters and story are from JRR Tolkien! He wrote the books The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarillion (which was edited by his son Christopher Tolkien). Tolkien crafted the entire world of Middle Earth, which I think is so cool that one person's imagination came up with such a rich and complex fantasy world! (Trust me, I tried, it's hard!) XD I drew all the sprites and coded the whole game! This took 3 days of work. I copied the character designs from various reference pictures on Google Images and the Wiki from many talented artists. Fire gif is from Google. The mini game with the dog is inspired by Ant Mania Picnic 2 on Webkinz (don't at me, I love that website and still have my old account from 2007 lol) In turn I think that game was inspired by the classic Snake game. The Melkor face in the thumbnail is callled "Milkor" and was first created by cy-lindric on Tumblr (to the most of my knowledge!) and the face has since become a meme as Melkor's "serious" face. I think it's funny so I put it in lol. Music: Sound effects from Scratch library with some by me. The song I used is on the homepage and in the game is called "aLIEz" from the anime Aldnoah Zero. The reason I used that song is because I found a really AMAZING Silmarillion anime opening that someone created and it is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The animation is by the YouTuber Levirena Laurant and a team of talented people. Link to the animation that actually inspired this game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF_fldVFbpU The song fits so well for the story of the Silmarillion, the lyrics and the tone! The English cover is by the amazing Leeandlie on YouTube! I also used a song by Bullet For My Valentine called "Scream Aim Fire" for Melkor. He's usually portrayed in the fandom as an edgy rock lord. Fanon Melkor is basically a joke (I chose to go with this version), but canon Melkor is actually a very terrifying dark lord. :0 The Ring Theme and Concerning Hobbits were composed by the amazing Howard Shore! Comment if I forget any credits... many thanks to JRR Tolkien once again for his outstanding works! #Silmarillion #LOTR #WIP #Lord_of_the_Rings #Melkor
