~ Ocean Eyes - 17 edo Noteblock ~ Turn on turbo mode (shift+click the green flag, click twice if the harmonies start as a jumbled mess haha), relax, and listen! 17 edo stands for 17 equal divisions of octave. What this means is that in an octave, instead of 12 notes (C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#, A, A#, and B), there are 17 notes (C, D♭, C♯, D, E♭, D♯, E, F, G♭, F♯, G, A♭, G♯, A, B♭, A♯, and B, where the enharmonic spellings in 12 edo represent distinct pitches in 17 edo). Because I based the scale off of the pitch corresponding to E in 12 edo, the frequencies of the notes differ slightly from the 17 edo C scale referenced above. I love the song Ocean Eyes--it's so beautiful and haunting!--and I figured it would be perfect for a 17 edo cover :) Question of the Project: What's your favorite Billie Eilish song? #music #math #xenharmonic #microtonal #Billie #Eilish #Finneas #noteblock #cover #ocean See if you can find the easter egg ;)
