DON'T READ THIS YET, CLICK THE FLAG NIGHT 1- It was supposed to be a normal day. I went out to patrol the border, like usual. I've never found any intruders before, but tonight there was a bright orange tom sitting well inside the scent marks. At his paws were the bones of a mouse, obviously stolen from our territory. This intruder and thief had to be taught a lesson, so I stalked up to him silently, then I pounced. Unfortunately this loner was stronger than I expected... I came home this morning with three scars and a pest who insisted that he joins me. ------------------- NIGHT 2- Since I was the one who brought him back, I was the one who had to show the loner around. It turns out his name is Bramble, and he's actually a decent hunter. That's more than I can say about my brother, Mudslide. He's always so tired he couldn't catch a mouse if it stumbled into his paws. He insists that he can hunt better in the day. ------------------- NIGHT 3- Eclipse is sick. She says she's fine, but we can all see the bags around her eyes and her red nose. Dandelion panicked and insisted that we find a cure immediately. It's not like Eclipse was about to die, but Dandelion wouldn't shut up! Luckily, Ash knows of some herbs by the border, so Bramble, Oasis, and I went to get some. The herbs were easy to find, but getting them back to camp wasn't, since a fox chose that moment to attack. I thought I was dead when it got its jaws around the scruff of my neck, but Bramble clawed it off at the last second. He really is stronger than me, but I'm not as jealous as I thought I would be. ------------------- NIGHT 4- Eclipse made a full recovery. But Dandelion got sick. Lovesick. I might die from second hand embarrassment just watching him follow my sister around. I'm so glad I don't act like that. Anyway, I followed Bramble to the forest to observe his hunting technique. This pest has somehow become one of my best friends. ------------------- NIGHT 7- Dandelion finally proposed to Eclipse! Took him long enough... he's been pining after her since they were kits. Even Mudslide woke up enough to congratulate them. ------------------- NIGHT 10- Two pieces of news, one: Eclipse and Dandelion had a little black she-kit named Raven, and two: Oasis proposed to Mudslide! Oasis, a pretty, skilled, respectable she-cat, PROPOSED to my brother, the cat who has insomnia during the day and looks like a zombie at night. Even Bramble was shocked, and he hasn't known them that long. ------------------- NIGHT 13- They had three kits. They're still can't decide on names. I said they should just name them One, Two, and Three, but according to Eclipse, names are supposed to mean something. That traitor Bramble took her side. ------------------- NIGHT 15- There was a huge storm, and a flood swept Raven all the way from the waterfall to the stream. The stream was too fast and strong for anyone to survive in, let alone a kit. I had to stop Eclipse from jumping in and losing her life to try and save a corpse. While I was holding Eclipse back, Bramble jumped in and saved Raven, who was still alive. Eclipse put a red feather behind the kit's ear so she would ever lose her again. I'm happy that no one died, but neither Eclipse nor Bramble will talk to me. The last thing Bramble said was "If you won't take risks for your family, then you don't deserve kits of your own." I don't know why that hurt so much more than what anyone else said. In fact, no one but my brother is talking to me, and he's half asleep. I'm sorry I misjudged the water, but I wasn't about to allow my sister to risk her life for a dead kit! I would've held back Bramble too, if I could have. ------------------- NIGHT 17- Oasis died. Ash said it has something to do with an infection after giving birth. Mudslide is devastated. ------------------- NIGHT 18- Mudslide woke me up in the middle of the day yesterday to tell me he was leaving to join the Day Cats. He said he couldn't live here anymore, and he was having trouble being nocturnal anyway. Now that I'm awake I wish I could have stopped him. I went to the border to mourn, no one seemed to want me around anyway ------------------- NIGHT 19- I must have fallen sleep there, because I woke up with that stupid fox in my face. It's teeth were already at my throat. I was getting ready to die, when the fox was pulled away. Bramble saved me, again. He said that everyone had forgiven me. And then he said the words I will always remember: "You did what you thought was the best way to protect your kin, and I think that will make you a great father. I've taken the responsibility of raising Oasis' kits, will you join me? As my Mate?" (Btw I said yes) ------------------- NIGHT 20- I've never been so happy in my life! I think I'll stop writing in this journal now, I'm too busy taking care of kits to write. I'll just hide it in the forest somewhere, hopefully no one will find this, or I'd be mortified
