This is for @26kittycat26’s DTA. Azrael was born in a family with no money. As a child, she worked hard to support her mother and father. One day, when she was 12, the god of death came to Azrael’s family to ask a favor. Being the god of death, none could say no. He asked Azrael’s parents if he could take Azrael to be his own child. Apparently, he saw power in her, and it needed to be nurtured. Boldly, Azrael’s parents said no. The god of death was furious, but he did not want to hurt Azrael because he wanted to train her power. He gave her parents five days to think it over, or else he would kill them. Azrael’s parents were horrified, but the agreed out of fear. 5 days later, the god of death returned. In order to save their only child from going down the wrong path, Azrael’s parents refused the offer. “Fools!” the god yelled. He instantly killed Azrael’s parents and took their souls. Azrael ran. She ran from what she saw. Eventually, the god of death tracked her down and found her. He took her to his lair and brainwashed her into thinking that he was her parent and that she must be his heir. ————————————-5 yrs later———————- Azrael is now 17. She works with the god of death, harvesting souls and placing them in the underworld. This is all that she had been doing for the past 5 yrs. One day, she went to the god of death’s throne room and sat on his throne, like a child. She was enjoying feeling royal, but as she was sitting, she noticed that the seat was loose. She got up and started lifting the seat. She opened it, only to find a picture of a child and her parents. The child looked an awful lot like Azrael. Maybe coincidence? No. This WAS her. Everything started coming back to her. That day her parents were killed by the god of death. How her family was terribly poor. She couldn’t believe it. She left the underworld a day later. She had snuck out successfully and was on the run. On the run from the god of death. The same god of death who killed her parents. The same god who SHE would kill.
I used Procreate to draw this. Thank you hosting the DTA, I enjoyed it very much uwu
