♥ Name: Dreamia ♥ Gender: Female ♥ Species: Cat ♥ Age: Young adult, like around 20-25 in human years ♥ Special powers: Can fly and walk on rainbows ♥ Backstory ♥ In an old, damaged barn in the countryside lived a mother cat. For generations, mother cats in this barn gave birth to beautiful silver kitties. Three of her kittens had perfect, beautiful silver coats, but the smallest runt in the litter had a coat as white as snow. So the mother named her three silver kitties Milky, Rain, and Mouse, but she was disgusted by her white kitten and gave her the unusual name Dreamia. Dreamia was always the most curious and adventurous of her littermates. The mother cat told her kittens a tale that there was treasure at the end of the rainbow. "The treasure can be many things," she said. "It can be a pot of gold, an endless field of food and water, or even a brand new barn. Just about anything good you can think of." Milky, Rain, and Mouse didn't believe the mother cat. They laughed after they heard the story. But not Dreamia. She stared out of the barn in awe, waiting for a rainbow. And one day, after it rained, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. It was the most colorful thing Dreamia had ever seen! She poked Milky, her only other sister, in the side. "Hey!" she said. "Look at that rainbow! I'm gonna go to the end and find the treasure!" Milky laughed. "There's no treasure, Dreamia! Just an old, dumb story told by our mother!" Dreamia snorted in anger. "Well I'm going!" she shouted. "And I'm gonna find the treasure and bring it back so the whole barn can share it!" Dreamia ran away. At first, her mother thought she wouldn't go far. But she didn't return for a whole day, so her family knew she was gone. They didn't really care, though. Dreamia followed the rainbow for several months. She grew skinny, hungry and tired. At that point, she knew she should just give up. Dreamia settled in between two comfy roots of a tree and cried herself to sleep, letting herself starve to death. That didn't last long. She was soon woken up by a lick in the face. Dreamia opened her eyes to see a strange-looking puppy with blue fur, a gold unicorn horn, and stars all over his fur. "Who are you, and why do you look so weird?" Dreamia asked. The puppy soon burst out laughing. "Oh, you're probably from a place where animals look /boring/. Why are you even here? Oh, by the way, my name's Starcloud." His tail and tongue were going crazy. Dreamia got up. "I'm Dreamia. I thought I could find treasure at the end of the rainbow, but in these past few months, I've grown and changed a lot. Which is why I don't believe that, and I should just give up." Starcloud had a sad expression. "Why give up?" he asked. "We can do this together! C'mon, let's go!" And so Dreamia and Starcloud continued the journey. They hunted, collected water, but most importantly, followed the rainbow. They traveled together for a long time. They didn't keep track of how long, but it was long enough that they were no longer kids anymore. They actually grew quite close and became good friends. And eventually, they reached the end of the rainbow. But there was no treasure. Just a rainbow pool underneath it. Dreamia was disappointed. But, then again, the rainbow water could taste like candy or something. She took a step in, then soon was all over the water. It gave her pelt a big rainbow splotch and wings. "Wow! Now you look weird, like me!" Starcloud teased. Dreamia laughed. Soon, the water wrapped around her paws and pushed her onto the rainbow. It kept pushing her up. She could walk on the rainbow. "Oh wow!" cried Starcloud. "I guess it really wants you to go on it, huh?" He soon realized. "So I guess it means goodbye, right?" Dreamia smiled. "Don't worry. I'll come back. I'll just go wherever the rainbow takes me, and back." So Dreamia walked on the rainbow. It led her all the way back to the old barn. By now, it was completely abandoned. She walked into it. "Hello?" she asked. "Dreamia?" said a weak voice. Dreamia walked to where it came from. It was her mother, sick, weak and tired. "Dreamia!" exclaimed the mother cat. "You came back! And you look different, too." "I know," said Dreamia, spreading one of her wings to look at the patterns. After so many cat years, I finally reached the end! And there was a treasure after all. It wasn't a physical thing, it was the journey. I had it all along. And I came back to you." "That's great," said the mother cat, "but I am sick and dying. Your siblings all left me to start their own lives. There is nothing left for you." Dreamia smiled. "That's okay. I made a great friend anyways, and he's waiting for me at the end of the-" Her mouth dropped open. The rainbow had disappeared. "Use your wings," said the mother cat. "Fly away." So Dreamia got out of the barn, spread her wings, and took to the skies. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
