These are my semi-open species, which basically means "DON'T MAKE ONE WITHOUT MY SAY-SO!", I think. uwu So, I made this species, called bobwings. They are a horned hybrid of finches and bobcats, after the ground became unsuitable for living. I'm honestly really proud of these guys, so don't steal them, please. ;w; And maybe could you read the rest of this, and maybe make a bobwing? owo Anyway, they are bobcats with horns, feathers (usually on their cheeks, and "elbows"), wings, back talons, and bird tails. I put an example (MY OC, DON'T STEAL HER) or a possible color scheme. The bobwing here (Bobu) has traits of a shaft-tail finch. (Her feathers are the same colors, and so are the talons.) Her horns are a typical color of gold, and one of the most common ones for bobwings. (There aren't a lot of bobwings with uncommon or rare traits.) I don't know why I put shading, I guess I just enjoy it. ;w; Wings! There are many different types, that I'll explain in length about: -smol wings; these are way too tiny, so they don't allow flight. bobwings with them have to ride on others in order to get around. They only have one layer of feathers. (rare due to their uselessness) -medium wings; they allow flight, though it allows as much as a normal bird- the bobwing with them has to rest every 2 days (bobcat genes kicking in), but when they migrate, they can fly for up to 60 days (bobcat genes again). Two layers of feathers. (common) -large wings; the bobwings with them can fly 1.5 times faster than bobwings with normal sized wings, and can fly for up to 100 days at a time when migrating (3.5 days normally). However, they usually stick with rest of the flock. A whopping three layers of feathers! 0-0 This makes them heavier, which makes the bobwing with them have to work harder to fly. As a result, these bobwings are typically stronger. (uncommon) Now the horns! I shall explain these too, first the length, then the different types: Sizes-- -smol horns; the bobwings with small horns usually eat mostly plant life, and usually are smaller in general to fit in tight spaces to get to food. (common) -medium horns; these bobwings usually are omnivorous, with a well-balanced diet. They also are the type to steal honey, both for themselves and for the rest of the flock. (common) -large horns; these bobwings are usually mostly carnivorous, hunting almost everything (but never bobwings). They also typically are larger than most bobwings, and protect the rest of the flock from THEIR predators (large owls and hawks, but on the rare occasions when they land, foxes, coyotes, and cats- house cats and big cats uwu). (uncommon) Types-- -straight horns; these are easy to hunt with, and not too bulky. (common) -ram's horns; hard to hunt with, because they can't spear anything. Bobwings with these are usually herbivores, no matter what size. (rare) -curved horns; easy to hunt with, and even a bit more helpful. It takes longer to learn how to hunt with them, but it's worth it. (common) -double horns; these are really helpful, especially when they're large. Since there are two, it doubles the chances of spearing prey. (rare) Feathers: -they come in different colors, depending on the type of finch. But sometimes, the feathers are a mix of the bobcat's fur pattern/color and the finch's pattern/color. The bobcat's fur can also affect the length of the feathers. Location of feathers-- -normal locations (common) -normal AND on hind legs, until midsection (uncommon) -only feathers on "elbows" (uncommon) -only feathers on cheeks (rare) Eyes: -regular (like my bobwing- common) -ringed (they have a ring of color around the pupil- ultra-rare, because you need a VERY SPECIFIC gene) Male and female differences: Horns-- -horns on the females are usually shinier and reflect more light than the male's. Claws-- -claws on the males can't sheathe, so are always out. Cubs-- -this isn't a male/female difference, but only bobwing cubs have the darker speckling on their paws and hind legs (shown on my bobwing). And now you're at the end. Now, if you enjoyed learning about these interesting creatures, I hope you'll make one. BUT you need to do specific things. This is my species, and I don't want people to steal them. So- remix this project, and delete everything except for the empty base at the end. (If you want a different combo, either draw it yourself or ask me nicely. No promises, though. ;w;) Then, fill in the base the best you can. No shading is necessary, but please take care to understand and use the points I specified above. (As in the feather patterns.) Then put this form in the instructions: // Name of bobwing // gender // type of finch // wing size // horn size // horn type // And please don't have more than 2 uncommon/rare traits. (Sorry, I can't have op bobwings running around-) And last thing- ALWAYS credit me as the creator of this species!!! And DON'T use your bobwing until I approve it. Thank you! <3
eyyyy used my art this time.--.
