hey guys! Coco here, and I just wanted to state my opinion about some drama that I've seen around scratch for the past months. okay, so. a lot have people have been saying things like "scratch isn't what it used to be". not only that, ive seen people talking 'bout things that arent scratch appropriate. and the reporting system and fliterbox is a lot of people's mortal enemies. let me explain my opinion. first, the art theft thing. this is a site full of younger children, who don't know any better. this site isnt an art site either, its a site for coding. scratch encourages people to remix projects, and if you dont want to take the risk of your art being stolen, then you should go to a different site. im very sorry if you cant go on different sites, but that isnt scratch's or anyone else's problems. "scratch isnt what it used to be". ive been on this site for about three, so i dont if that's long enough, but im guessing it is. i have news for you. nothing ever stays the same forever. people who used to be on scratch has left, and a new community of kids have joined. if you dont like the community, leave. "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen." that or just dont engage in the drama. its so simple to just ignore it, delete it, or report it. no one is forcing you to reply or be on this site. scratch appropriate things. like i said, this site is for younger children, and putting up gory things and stuff like that is taking a risk, and it has a good chance of being reported. i mean, if the ST finds it, it most probably means a younger/sensitive kid found it, and they have the right to take it down. that leads to our next topic, the banning system. most of us have been on scratch for a long time, and are not little kids any more. we're maturing, so we're bound talk about more mature subjects. thats why the fliterbox/banning system is so strict. like i said, this site is for kids. and this is not ST's fault, because they're doing their best to keep this site drama free and kid friendly. we're the problem, /we're/ the people on scratch, we're part of the community. and dont come at me and say im being inconsiderate. i have been banned. i have had my account muted. i have had my art stolen once or twice. i agree with ST, this is getting ridiculous. stop winning. please just grow up, and move on if you have a problem with this site. im sorry if this sounds rude but its true. the word needs to be spread, and people need to get this in their head. it makes me sad to see kids who are older then me, winning and complaining about this site. this is my opinion, and if you dont agree with it, thats fine. if you want to hate on me, thats fine. and i myself am part of the drama, but it doesnt mean its okay. you complaining and making projects about how ST sucks ir how scratch isnt the way it was before isnt going to help. so yeah. my opinion has been stated. people need to realize this, or just leave the site. sorry if this offended you in anyway, but its true. stay healthy and stay safe - Coco
