Goin off on my own little rant here so if you don't want to read me screaming about tracing/recoloring/art stealing/how scratch is just dying then don't read. With that out of the way, I hate scratch. I don't care if this gets me banned. Scratch has become such a terrible place. I want the scratch I had when I joined. Everyone was so kind. If you're one of my older followers then you may know who @-Jey was. She... when she left scratch I was so sad. I felt like with her there was no toxicity in this community. But that's all changed. Nothing is the same anymore. All my friends are leaving. No one seems to care about how scratch is getting filled with art theifs and tracers and recolorers and such. I'm just tired of this. As soon as I get a chance to move to DA or TH I'm so going to take it. Scratch used to make me happy but it doesn't anymore. Ok, now that the whole general ranty thing is over time to rant about recoloring lol. Recoloring. It's wrong. (also if you haven't found this forum page I shall link it here https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/427432/?page=1 ) The reporting system for telling someone, "Hey could you please not recolor? I worked really hard on this and I'd rather not have it stolen or just colored differently" is garbage. You defend your artwork and you get banned. Tell someone not to steal and you get removed from scratch all together. The more I think about it the more I realize that DA is way better than scratch. Sure DA doesn't have the chat filters that scratch does but still. YOU DON'T GET BANNED FOR SAYING DON'T STEAL/RECOLOR/TRACE!! (directed at the ST themselves) Please, Scratch Team, fix this. Scratch has far more artists than coders nowadays just, make it better for us. Make if so people don't steal our art. That's just like saying someone stole your recipie for a chocolate cake and said that they made it. Or you invent something and someone takes it and claims credit for it. How would you feel if someone did that? Angry? Frustrated? That's how artists feel. I don't think you understand, Scratch Team, that people put hours into an art peice just to have someone drag it into their backpack and claim it as theirs. Ban me for all I care. This website is toxic now. It feel like you're doing nothing to fix these problems. It's your website. At the very least TRY. Or maybe you do nothing because this website is dying. Scratch is dying and you don't want to worry about updating it or taking care of these things. Maybe the artists of scratch should go on strike. Instead of leaving we can take a stand and defend what is right. (gosh this is turning into the Newsies lol) If anyone is onboard with going on strike then just say so on my profile. I don't know if I'm being too harsh. I know for a fact this will probably get me banned. Why should I care tho. I'll just leave. Scratch doesn't seem to care that people are leaving every day. A few months ago, when this pandemic all started, Scratch was thriving. But as more people join, I'm forced to believe that scratch is worsening my mental health. We need to take a stand and stop this. I know this rant was kinda all over the place but I'm angry, and when I get angry, I rant about everything. So, there's that lol. Oh gosh that's 607 words there, 3214 characters including spaces. I'm heated ok XD the art took me like 20 seconds to draw so apologies for the messy-ness of it (music credited inside too lol)
