There were about 10 that were made before they created a GlowCat they were satisfied with. Fluorescene was the last test, they were so close to their goal, they just had to figure out one last detail - how to make controllable powers. (Fun fact, I've decided that my main Coral is a prototype as well. As the first prototype, she is the farthest test, being only able to breathe underwater and that is it. She was labelled as a fish cat.) Fluorescence could not control his powers, they would activate unexpectedly, causing the water to form strange events and shapes, and it could be extremely painful when they did. All of the tests were put into large glass boxes and sent off to the aquarium, the boxes were very sturdy, his magic being unable to break the glass. It was a one-way glass, the visitors being able to see in, but for all he knew, he was in the ocean. He was extremely insecure about his powers, and hid from the other GlowCats often. He needs water to survive, and sometimes the water will form a bubble around him, trapping him from the oxygen in the water. Heres a short story from his point of view. - It was a small, glass box. I could see the outside. There seemed to be a handle on top, and there was a line of humans walking into a building. //Where are they taking us?// I thought, Turning my head to see the little of the surroundings I could see. They walked through an entrance, and I squinted as my eyes adjusted to the light. They walked through long halls, until they reached the end of the one they had entered. There seemed to be a trap-door in the ceiling, and the humans fitted a ladder before climbing up it. I squirmed through the water in the small box, turning around to see down the ladder. They emerged through the top, and slammed the latch behind them. There seemed to be another trap door, and a human who was holding a crate with a coral-colored female with a glittery tail inside, opened it. Inside was a colorful coral reef, or at least thats what it looked like from my point of view. The human pulled the top of the box, and they opened a door, before putting the GlowCat through the door. She dove down, and swam away from the little patch of view. They repeated and repeated until I was the last one. I back into the back of my box, and screeched as they picked me up by the scruff and dumped me in. It was then the I felt a sort of pain in the back of my head. At first I thought it was nothing, but it grew. I yelled for help, but I forgot that sound wouldn't reach the others through water. There was a bright flash, and I struggled to breath. //Where's the water? Why am I in a bubble?!?// Thoughts raced through my head as my lungs struggled for air. I felt my whole body finally relax a few moments later as I felt the water calmly wrap around me again. I felt a repetitive rhythm of small waves pass through this... ocean? Lake? River? Whatever we were in. I wondered what had happened, before I dove down, exploring the new area. - Hope you liked it! Expect more art of him later! :)
