Chapter 4: Asia played games with her siblings all afternoon. She beat her younger brother, Isaiah’s butt off at Mario Kart. “YESSS!” She screamed as her brother stared at her with an angry smirk on his lips. “You only won because I let you!” He yelled. “Sure you did.” Asia said sarcastically. “Well I did!” He whined. “Well I’ve got to go do some research on my computer now anyways.” She said calmly. “See ya later!” she added. “Hmph!” Isaiah folded his arms and huffed away. “Ten year old boys” Asia chuckled as she set off to her room. Asia walked up the stairs to her room. Her room was on the second floor of her family’s two story home. The walls were painted light grey, her floors were dark stained pine board. A vintage twin bed sat under her window on the east side of the house. She loved how she could watch the warm pink rays of sun pouring into her room every morning. It was her favorite time of day. Now, late afternoon, the sun was on the other side of the house. She moved to sit down at her desk in the corner of her room but stopped short to see her tiny, wire-haired Jack Russell Terrier, Piper, curled up in her seat. “Piper!” Asia scolded, picking up the pudgy little dog. “You shouldn’t nap there! I might sit on you!” She added with a giggle. She opened her journal to write, but nothing came to her mind. She contemplated her day and her conversations with Noah and the strange man on the street. It’s too far fetched to be true. Isn’t it? She thought. Yes. It was for sure. Noah was right, and soon she would forget about the odd man. Yes, that was right. It would all go back to normal again soon and she could move on with life. It’s all just a big myth. Wasn’t it great to be free from such things? She pondered. Little did she know, she was far from free.
