Stephen McDannell Hillenburg was an American animator and marine science educator. He is best remembered for creating the Nickelodeon animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. Born on August 21, 1961 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Died on November 26, 2018 in San Marino, California. He was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and sadly passed away. This wonderful animator has given us the wonderful world of Spongebob Squarepants, and will always be remembered. Rest In Peace, Stephen Hillenburg.
