Day 6000 of picking a random song out of my backpack. . There are two versions of this story, one from the light side (not the official name) and one from the cruel side (not official name). One is a fable and one is a love story. - Rainbow Chaser, according to the Light Side: - Long before the clans were orderly and just, a tom lived. His fur was handsomely curled, and his pelt was a beautiful dark blue, unlike any other pelt in the world. It looked like the color of the sky before nighttime, twilight, so that was what he called himself. He was charming, handsome, intelligent, and an excellent warrior. But he was tricky. He was arrogant. He wasn't a good tom. So, one day, after it had rained, it was sunny, so he took a walk, and met a beautiful she-cat in the woods. She had so many colors on her pelt, colors he'd never seen! She said that she was under stress, and that her parents only ever let her out when they were out with her. She cried to him. She vented. He figured her out as they spoke. She was the rainbow. This beautiful she-cat was a goddess, that was born of the powerful Water and the messenger of the Sun, Light. So, he agreed to meet her in secret every night. For him, it was because he loved the idea- and the glory of being a close friend of a goddess. For her, she wanted- no, needed someone to talk to. Months and months passed, and they began to fall for each other, but each month that passed, her parents got more suspicious. Her father followed her one day, and found out about their meetings. He was furious, at both of them, so he sent the poor goddess to be banished in the sky, up with the sun so couldn't escape. His daughter was not allowed to be friends with mortals! He attempted to catch Twilight and imprison him, but he was too tricky and too clever, so the tom ended up escaping. Twilight was in love with the rainbow. She made him a better cat. He started to run after her, to try and free her, but every time he got closer, Light pushed her away. Soon, he was able to see her in the sky less and less, and she no longer looked like a she-cat. He chased her for days and days, months, years, but he could never find her. He never gave up, hope was in his heart. Some say he's still out there, running after her and calling her name, miserable because she is locked away.
