This is my writing entry its really sloppy :P Also can read it here | | v v I leaned across the window of my house, looking maybe for a sign of my old dog, Checker. He was my loyal companion, but one day he disappeared. I looked and I saw nothing. I double-checked to be sure- nothing. With a sigh I closed the window and drew the curtains and trudged slowly to my room, plopping myself onto the bed and propping myself up with my elbows. This was my special thinking time- where I thought about the past, all my old memories. This is the time where I fill my mind with color, red for anger, blue for sadness, yellow for happiness. I slowly got up and reached across the desk, grabbing a small picture. It was only a photo, but I treasured it with all my heart and soul because it had the face of a girl and a dog- me and Checker. I could see Checker's long pink tongue, his big, bright eyes, and noticeable smile, that could go straight to your heart. I looked at the picture for a long time before I put it back on the desk. I sighed. This would be the same normal, sad day, as always since Checker disappeared. Suddenly I heard a shuffle outside the window. I ran to see, heart filled with hope, but saw nothing. Surprised and disappointed, I walked back to my desk. I tried to do my schoolwork, but I just couldn't. I had a question in my mind- what was the noise outside my window? A rabbit or other small animal? I didn't sleep well that night. awoke that morning to a shuffling sound. The first thing I thought was, 'The animal!' I practically leaped out of bed and ran to the window. I looked around for something. My heart was pounding. Nothing. I frowned, disappointed, but peered out again, opening the window this time. At first, I saw nothing, but then I gasped at what I saw. It was a dog, a small, orange one. I rushed outside and looked at the dog. No, it wasn't Checker, but this dog had the same big eyes Checker did, and it looked right at me, with a strangely familiar smile! I couldn't help but laugh. I placed the puppy on the grass, saying, "Wait here- don't move!" The puppy sat down, ears folded, as if to say, Yes, Sir! I grinned for probably the first time in weeks, and ran to the house, face red with happiness. I burst into the house, panting probably because I ran so fast. I said, "Dad, I found a puppy out- side the house and he's so cute and he's got no collar and can we keep him please please with a cherry on top?" My dad seemed to hesitate a moment, so I made puppy-dog eyes. My dad laughed and said, "Alright, you can keep him. But-" My spirits rose even higher. "But what?" I asked. My father replied, "I need to first see him, and check him for fleas. Strays often have fleas." So we both went out and looked at the dog. He barked once, but it sort of was a, Who are you? bark. Not an angry one. My father said, "Remarkable- he's got no fleas at all, remarkable. Yes, you can keep him!" My spirits seemed to sprout wings and fly even higher than they can jump. This was my dog, and his name would be Nori, yes, my dog Nori!
