A simulation is a model made to study or show a process. Simulations usually use some variables researchers know and some randomness to illustrate what might happen. This simulation is a model using the best data available to illustrate how Wisconsin's voter ID law and wait times at the polls affected people's ability to vote in the 2016 presidential election. Press the green flag and select a group of voters to start the simulation.
This project is based on data from a University of Wisconsin study of Milwaukee and Dane counties and uses its categories. While looking at "White" and "Black" groups does not include all voters, finding patterns for voters who identified in these ways can help reveal systemic problems in voting access. https://elections.wisc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/483/2018/02/Voter-ID-Study-Supporting-Info.pdf See also the voter wait times simulation: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/426177022/
