Ok! So here's my entry! Yaaaay.... ugh, i haven't drawn feral cats in forever so it looks a bit off srry. Also the palette may be kinda off bc I couldn't actually use a ref. i drew this in the middle of a power outage. the power of the laptop and such. Now, story time!! (it's kinda long, i'm sorry i went overboard) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A tabby kitten wandered the snow covered city streets. He was all alone. No family. No home. No food. He was fading. He looked up at all the humans walking by. Not a single one noticed him. and the ones that did, only stayed for a moment an pointed their strange rectangles at him. Hungry and cold, he shuffled through the snow back into an alleyway. it was so cold... so hard to keep his eyes open... He found small patch of concrete and layed down. His stomach rumbled. He tried to keep his eyes open. He tried to stay awake... because if he didnt, he might not wake up in the morning. He was too weak to stand. Even if he could, he'd have no place to go. Mommy was gone. She left him all alone. He mewed, praying for someone to find him and help him. He didn't want to go yet. His calls slowly got quieter. The hypnotising snowfall was pretty. He used to watch the snow while curled up with mommy and his siblings. He gave one final mew, before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep. one. last. time. Or so he thought. The kitten woke up the next morning to find himself wrapped up in a soft blanket. it reminded him of his mommy's fur. It was so warm. He looked around the room. It looked like he was in some sort of log cabin. there were all sorts of weird, colourful concoctions in pretty glass bottles all over the place and a big iron pot in the middle of the room. He was on a table covered in tiny glass bottles of weird powders and stuff that smelled weird. Then, a human girl walked through the door. she wore a dark dress an a strange pointy hat "Oh! You're finally awake!" she picked up a bottle sitting on one of the shelves. "You hungry, baby?" she carefully poured some of the liquid in a bowl. it was a weird darkish creme colour. he hesitantly licked some up. It.. tasted like milk. But it didn't look like it. What was is...? Well, whatever it was, it tasted good and he was hungry. "Oh, you need a name, don'tcha little guy?" He looked up at her curiously "How aboout.... Jekyll? Yeah, that's cute! What do you think?" she said gently petting him. He gave a happy mew. "Jekyll it is! Ooh, and you can be my familiar! Every good witch need a familiar. We can be best friends!" The girl kept babbling about witch stuff. But Jekyll didn't mind. He now had a nice home and a friend who cared about him. One who wouldn't leave him behind. For the first time since Mommy left him, he felt like he had a place in the world. He felt loved. He felt... happy. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- writing that took a big chunk outta my day. oh well.
