[he acts like a cottagecore lesbian even though he’s not lmao] they asked moss if he could watch the stars with them, extremely aware of how hot their cheeks were. moss agrees, a bit confused why koa was so nervous. they get outside, and lay on the grass. [dialogue time!!!] “aren’t the stars beautiful?” moss breathed. koa thought. “yes,” they finally replied, “yes they do look beautiful, kinda like you.” moss looked startled, “what?” “can I tell you something moss?” koa asked nervously, ignoring the question completely. moss picked at the grass with his claws, but still looked at koa steadily. “go ahead,” he murmured. “I..” koa hesitated, looking for the right words. how would they say it? just say it straightforwardly? “what is it koa?” moss pressed gently. “I can tell something is on your mind. do you want to tell me?” koa’s heart started to beat faster. their vision went dizzy, and they looked down at their paws and tears started forming at the edges of their eyes. they guessed that this would be the last they would see of moss. they put their head on their paws and started to sob, barely aware of moss prodding their side gently. “hey, koa, it’s okay.” moss said quietly. “I’m here, its alright koa.” koa sniffed, and then raised their head up. their eyes were cloudy, and they finally stuttered, “I’m.. sorry..” they choked out. “what for?” moss listened closely. “for.. for.. for being in love with you.” koa murmured so softly, you could barely hear them. moss looked surprised, but his surprise quickly faded away. he shifted closer to koa and his face broke into a smile. he touched koa’s cheek with his nose tenderly. “I love you too, you know.
