As a wildlife ranger, you're concerned about monitoring the ratio of predator to an endangered species of prey by setting an alarm signal when #bears > #antelopes (b>a), so you can step in to curb their extinction. (Of course, this is a very simplified condition.) Some of these measures (which I haven't managed to add to the program) might be culling the predator or bringing in more of the prey population.
