On April 11th, 2020, one of the saddest days in hockey history, after being in a coma for about a week, 25 year old Colby Cave died of a brain bleed. After playing for the swift-current broncos of the WHL for 5 seasons, Colby Cave got signed by the Boston Bruins and at the end of the 2014-2015 season, he played his first game in the Bruins organization, after putting up a solid 75pts in 72 games for the broncos, Cave got called up to the AHL to play his first game with the Providence Bruins, he only played 1 game for them that season. Until the end of the 2017-2018 season, Cave stayed with Providence, and after that he was called up to the NHL to play 3 games with Boston, and at the start of the 2018-2019 season, he returned to the Providence Bruins roster for 15 game, then he got called back up to Boston for a good chunk of the season. After playing 20 games for Boston, he got claimed by the Edmonton Oilers where he would finish the season. He played 11 games for the Oilers but then got sent down to the AHL (to the Bakersfield Condors) for the remainder of the season, and that was it for his hockey career, because during the covid-19 pandemic, Cave had a brain bleed and was in a coma for about a week before he died. R.I.P Colby Cave.
R.I.P Colby Cave, you will not be forgotten and you'll always be in our hearts and thoughts.
