Snowpaw gasped as she thudded onto the ground. Silverpaw stood above her, grinning triumphantly. "/How/ do you do that?" She said as she struggled to get up. "I just have a great mentor" Silverpaw smirked and looked at Tigerclaw, who was smiling proudly at his apprentice. Willowpelt looked worried. "Are you ok, Snowpaw? That's the third time Silverpaw knocked you down." "I'm fine." She huffed. How was Silverkit so strong? She looked so small and weak, yet she was the strongest apprentice and was best at fighting. "Something /has/ to be wrong." She told Jaypaw as they headed back to camp. "I've been watching her train with Tigerclaw and he doesn't even seem to be working that hard. When he teaches her a new move, it's like she already knew it." Jaypaw chewed on his mouse thoughtfully. "You are right, that is weird. She must be training on her own, or with another cat." She shook her head. "That can't be, I'm always watching her. If someone is training her, then it probably doesn't have to do with the present time." "Maybe some cat visits her in her dreams?" Jaypaw suggested. She perked up. "You think?" He nodded. "Possibly. Except, if she does, then we won't be able to know who or what is training her." Snowpaw growled in frustration. Why was she reincarnated into this time? To fix Silverpaw's problem? She didn't see why she needed to. Why couldn't she just live peacefully in Starclan like most other cats? Perhaps she was special, perhaps Starclan didn't want to throw any other cats into this business. She was about to go into the apprentice den before she heard the sound of paws thudding through the camp. She whipped around and saw the patrol cats, Longtail and Sandstorm. Maplefluff, Graystripe, and Cloudsky weren't with them. Fireheart ran up to them. "What's wrong?" Sandstorm was panting. "There are two foxes... they jumped out of nowhere and attacked us! I and Longtail came to tell you... the others are fighting!" Instantly Fireheart started to call up a patrol. "Can I go?" Asked Snowpaw. Her parents were out there. "No, you are too young!" Said Fireheart and started to call for Willowpelt, Tigerclaw, Squirrelflight, and Nighteye. "Well, I'm going!" Shouted Silverpaw, and she ran out. "NO!" Said Snowpaw, and chased after her. "Silverpaw, Snowpaw! Wait!" Shouted Fireheart, and he and the patrol ran after them. They ran to the fighting cats and foxes, and the first thing Snowpaw saw was her mother on the ground, hardly moving. Graystripe and Cloudsky were fighting the two foxes. Silverpaw ran to Maplefluff and shook her. "Maplefluff, please get up!" Maplefluff didn't move. Snowpaw ran to them and looked at Maplefluff, getting a sickening feeling. "She's... she's dead, Silverpaw." Silverpaw stared at her, mouth open but no words coming out. "The foxes... they killed her!" She shouted, rage in her eyes. She leaped at one of the foxes and used a move so vicious that Snowpaw shuddered, making the fox yowl in pain and fall to the ground, blood gushing out of its throat. "That's for killing my mother!" She yowled. Something shot through Snowpaw, a feeling like something just snapped. "That... the fox triggered her..." She stared at Silverpaw as the other cats started fighting the fox. She turned her head to Maplefluff's body. A familiar feeling flowed through her. 'I had two mothers, and they were both killed.' She couldn't believe it. The other fox suddenly yowled and ran off. Silverpaw stared at it as if she wanted to chase it and kill it. Cloudsky suddenly appeared next to her and sadly looked at his mate's dead body. "We fought hard, but these foxes were really strong. She gave her life to protect the rest of us." She sobbed and buried her face into his blood-stained fur. How much harder could life get? Silverpaw had something mysterious about herself, Maplefluff died, and Silverpaw even showed her true evil, killing the fox by herself. She thought about what there was to come and sighed. This would be a very hard life.
