(Btw credit to Swift for the name and thumbnail lol) The Stars' Shadøws | prologue: Thunder rumbled above the treetops, then lightning struck as well, "What luck I've got," a cat muttered. He flexed his claws and broke into a sprint. Little flares were starting to lit the grass now far behind him aflame. But he knew it'd catch up to him eventually. "Snap! This way!" Snap came to a stop, but continued soon, in the direction of the voice. "What a timing," Snap growled as he caught up. He turned back to the fire. Which was quickly coming near, "Vi, can we get going already?! We need to warn everyone! We need to get to the river before it gets to close," Snap growled. All of a sudden there was another clap of thunder. "That was close," Vi murmured. "That's for stating the obvious," Snap snapped. His fur spiked when he heard the crackle of fire behind them and ran forward. He gasped as he was struck by something hot. He crumpled to the ground, writhing in pain. "Snap are you alright?! Lightning struck a few inches from you, I thought you would be okay," Vi mewed fearfully while she stamped on the flames nearby. "Once the sun is consumed, the darkness will rise until the is the core is destroyed," Snap meowed weakly. His eyes clouded as he let out a final breath. Vi backed up for a moment, but soon lunged forward and grabbed Snap's scruff to haul him back to camp.
