Recap: I check all around the perimeter of the school, but still no sign of my mom's vehicle. This is the worst that could possibly happen to me. My mom will be furious! I feel a whoosh of wind behind me. But it's not wind. I turn around to see a mysterious girl wearing a pitch-black hoodie. "W-who are you..." ----------------------------------Ch. 2------------------------------------- "Your reflection." The girl whispers. I gasp. "W-what? But... that's not possible. I must've fallen asleep during social studies. This is all just a dream." But it isn't a dream. I slap myself hard on the cheek, and it hurts. "I said, who are you?" I exclaimed sternly. "Come." She motions to me, telling me to follow her. Suddenly, a door appears. I slowly creep closer, and my hand is shaking as I put it on the doorknob. The door creaks open. There are stairs leading down to... nowhere. "It's a trap." I realize, turning to the girl. I push her aside, and start running back home. I finally reach my front door, and I am panting like crazy. I go to my room and work on homework. I sigh. I start to write a math equation, but it eventually turns into a sketch of the mysterious girl. I spin my chair around to face the full-sized mirror leaning on the wall. At first, I see myself, in my ripped jeans and gray sweatshirt. But then, I see the girl in the hoodie. I immediately look away, leave the room, and slam the door. I run downstairs. "Mom, can I have dinner early today?" "Sure, Jen. You must be pretty hungry; you usually eat dinner late." "Heh, yeah..." My mom serves me some steak, my favorite. "Mmmmmm..." There is steam coming from the food, so I blow it to cool it down. But then the steam turns blackish, and the same girl in the hoodie appears again! I start blowing rapidly, trying to get rid if the figure. "Uh, Jen, are you okay? Something wrong?" "Oh, um, no, I'm fine." I sigh with embarrassment, then look back down at the steak. The steam is no longer there. I pretend like nothing ever happened, and try to enjoy my favorite meal.
