This one may evoke rage in about every american. This is NOT a bad gun. it is just overrated. I personally like the Thompson, however, the internet is going crazy about a gun from the 1920s, and I am here to crush trends. first off, the round it shoots: the 45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol). its a slow round with poor penetration. The actual gun may have been great in the 20s, maybe the 30s, but it was completely obsolete in the 40s. It was SUPER heavy, about 10 pounds (or 4.5 kilograms for countries that don"t have a flag on the moon). Thats ridiculous. it may not seem like a lot, but that, spare magazines, ammo, and kit is a lot to lug around all day. it was complex and expensive. it cost around $200 ($2,500 in today's money). It was made more obsolete when the US released the M3 "grease gun". it was much cheaper, lighter, and more accurate. It had a very high cyclic rate and was difficult to control. overall, why does this gun still have a cult following? the only thing that it is useful for now is as a decoration, nostalgia, and really nothing else.
The art is all made by me. The gun on screen is the Thompson M1A1.
