I can see him seemingly jokingly accusing Hilda but actually being serious about it. Nobody survived Jeritza/Emile's rampage on the first picture round, not even his own sister, who was executed. The only reason Caspar as found out was because he got his best buddy executed and then killed one of the two Byleths. Ashe was the 3rd round killer. I'm disappointed in him, but I expected it.
