FLAT ART TUTORIAL! Hi guys! Tara here! Here's my latest project! Sorry I haven't posted a project in a few days. I was super busy. Today, we'll look at how to draw a simple flat art background! Arrow keys or tap to navigate. So it's kinda hard to see. So I'll explain it here: 1. Go to the "line" tool in the Vector art editor and set the outline size to 100. Then, draw a single line. Go to the "select" tool and copy paste the line you drew until you have 6 - 7 of those lines. Now, you have to "stagger" it. I've shown you how in the project. 2. Now, as our lines were black, we've got to add some colour to them. I'll pick a nice blue, and using the "saturation" and "brightness" options in the colour bar, I'll shade the first 5 lines from the lightest possible shade to the darkest. But you can use different colour combinations depending on what type of background you're going to draw, like if you want to make a "Moonrise" background then I suggest you should shade your first 4 lines in deep blues and 2 lines in deep violet and light purple. We'll use the "fill" tool to add colour to our lines. 3. As you saw or will see, I have left the last 2 lines of my backdrop black. We've got to fill them too. I've used a sand coloured shade for them, because it indicates sand. I'm drawing an underwater background, see? 4. Now, we've got to decorate our background with plants, animals, clouds, objects or a sun or a moon. As I'm drawing an underwater scene, I'll add a few seaweed. I've used the "line" and "reshape" tool for this. And after that, I've added some bubbles using the "circle" tool and I've also added a tiny little FISHY! I used the "circle", "line", "brush" and "fill" tool for that. 5. Well, look what we have here! A cute, simple, pretty and BASIC underwater flat art background! Great job guys! But remember, there's more to flat art than just backgrounds! Go ahead! Explore! And stay tuned for my next tutorial on how to make a parallax! Until next time, byee!!!!! <3 -Tara
❤Notes I forgot to tell you that you can draw anything with flat art. It's really pretty and basic! So start experimenting! It's ok if it turns out bad! I used to be terrible too! You can see my first flat art here: I got blocked on this account, so I moved to and then to here, . I'm not too fussed about my old projects, now that I can start afresh. So...YEET!!! ❤Credits: Canva.com for the thumbnail Me for the instruction cards, the text on it and the art for the instruction cards' code for the original idea. I just made it more detailed.
