Press the keys 1 till 6 to spawn 6 different types of Splatoon weapons that protect your base (Blue line at the bottom of the screen). Splattershots/rapid blaster pros shoot small bursts of ink Range blasters/clash blasters shoot large blasts of ink Octo brush/ink brush splat at point-blank range Boss has 5 hearts and will appear once a minute
