Personality: Despite being an experienced helicopter prodigy as stated in his bio, Charles's dream has always been to fulfil his desire to crash an aerial vehicle into something heroically, which he often refers to as his "greatest plans". In all three games that he appears in, Charles does this in some way, despite the obvious risks and obstacles. The other fails in which he assists Henry happen because he actually doesn’t understand what he’s doing, or messes something up: Charles is not a good shot. He really likes using a Gatling gun, but ends up accidentally killing Henry with it because it was poorly suited for the scenario. He does pull off a masterful shot in Complex with a sniper rifle, but unfortunately, he accidentally aimed at Henry instead of the guard. Charles also doesn't understand many of the gadgets he uses. He has a gravity bubble gadget but has no idea if “Up” means that it raises the gravity inside the bubble, or lift the person in the bubble up into the air. This same reasoning leads to many hilarious fails under his name. Charles will also hack into their systems to open a door not realizing it's the wrong one, emit sleeping gas despite the wind blowing it backwards, teleport a platform under the wrong coordinates, send in a JetPod right on top of Henry, or fire a subsonic wave way too powerful for the situation. Charles also takes things very literally: he'll shut the power off the Airship when asked, but doesn't realize the airship needs power to fly. His on-the-spot thinking is questionable, as in the International Rescue Operative route he could have easily caught Henry from below, and in Triple Threat, he considers high-fiving Henry and Ellie to be a successful option. In the Rapidly Promoted Executive or Pure-Blooded Thief endings, Charles might have a great bond with Henry and always treat him as his partner despite Henry's actions opposing the government he's working for, as he's willing to help Henry escape the complex. He also feels bad if he accidentally shoots Henry. However, in Completing the Mission where you have to choose a combination of endings, the Pure Blooded Thief ending and the Rapidly Promoted Executive ending cannot be combined with the International Rescue Operative ending, meaning either Charles does not want to rescue Henry or he isn't allowed to. Charles is also a silly, sweet guy, as seen in him sacrificing himself for Henry and cracking jokes whenever possible. He's lively and is likely friendly to most people, as shown in the cutscene before Triple Threat, where he considers Ellie as his friend.
