This story is cancelled because I couldn't get one of the character on time and I just gave up. Here's what I wrote if you want to see it: ----------------------------------------------------------------- “Star!” Melody purred, stepping into her mother-in-law’s house. “It’s so good to see you!” “It’s good to see you too, daughter-in-law,” Star smiled. “How are my grandbabies?” “Grandma!” Wildfire shrieked, crashing into the house. “Hi, Grandma,” Crescent said quietly, white Razor just gave her a quick nod and a smile. “Hello, Mother,” Badger stepped in, giving his mother a hug. “How are you?” “I’m great,” she hugged him back. “Come in, come in. How was the drive?” “Brutal,” Melody joked, taking off her coat and hanging it up. “Well, everyone else will arrive shortly. You can take your bags up to your regular room,” Star smiled. Badger and Melody grabbed their bags and ushered their children up the stairs. ----------------------------------------------------------------- “Hi, Star,” Vixen hugged her grandmother. “It’s good to see you again!” “You too, granddaughter,” she smiled. “And Grey! It’s good to see you again. Have you two arranged a wedding date?” “Good to see you too, Star,” Grey smiled, exchanging a glance with Vixen. “We were planning on having an early spring wedding. For new growth.” “That’s a great idea!” Star beamed. “Let me know when you have a set date, I’ll mark it on my calendar. Now, let’s get your bags upstairs.” ----------------------------------------------------------------- Soon, the whole family had arrived. The house was bustling with people, little children in costumes, adults with bowls of candy held high over their heads, and a /lot/ of noise. It was 6:00 pm, late enough to get ready, but still too early to start heading out. “7:00!” the adults kept shouting. “You can go out at 7:00! Dahlia, NO!” That last remark was very necessary, for Dahlia, a little 7-year-old witch, kept trying to steal candy. Normally her sister, Twilight would join in, but she was busy fuming about not being to go out trick-or-treating. She had broken her leg a couple of days before, and her parents had forbidden her from going trick-or-treating. “It’s not fair,” she grumbled to her grandmother. “I have to stay home and watch stupid Cinderella while everyone else has all the fun.” “Oh, don’t worry,” Star patted her back. “I’ll put a Harry Potter movie on for you and Vixen. And I bought extra candy this year,” she winked before walking back to the mayhem. “Juniper, honey, please stop moving around. I know you want to show off your costume, but if you don’t stay still, your costume will fall apart,” Melody pleaded with her great-niece. Juniper obediently stayed in her spot, quiet, but as soon as Melody was done, she took off around the house again. “AND DON’T JUMP IN THE ROSE BUSHES AGAIN!” Melody screamed after her. “CROCUS! MYSTERY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” Wraith’s screaming could be heard throughout the house. Crocus and her grandmother, Mystery, had somehow climbed onto the railing and were crouching there. “We wanna fly!” Crocus chirped, spreading her finch wings. “Crocus, NO!” Shatteredsoul stood, yelling up. While the princess and finch were distracted, Naomi and Dove snuck up behind them, Naomi picking Crocus up and Dove gently helping her mother down. Crocus pouted, but allowed herself to be carried downstairs, where Blade and Flash were being swarmed with children, handing out candy bags. “ALRIGHT, EVERYBODY READY?” Scar bellowed. The cheers were deafening. “Right. Ember, Dahlia, Juniper, Crescent, Wildfire, Razor, Marble, Magnolia, Mystery, Shadow, Orchid, Grey, Shatteredsoul, Sabre, Wraith, Blade, Opalheart, Everstar, Dove, Naomi, Flash, Lamb, Badger, Akimbo, Goth, Leafstrike, Hunter, and Coyote. Everybody else is staying home.” There were cheers and groans at the announcement, and the listed people bustled out the door. Soon the door slammed and the house was quiet. “What movie should we set up first? Vixen, you, and Twilight can go upstairs and watch Harry Potter. Sleet, Mistle, Atlas, Crocus, you can stay here with me,” Star said. “Sunrise, Lynx, Melody, you can stay with us. Dreamleaf, will you set up a movie while I make popcorn?” “Of course,” Dreamleaf nodded, and hurried the kids into the TV room. “Melody, prepare a bag of candy for Vixen and Twi?” Melody nodded and walked off. “Sunrise, Lynx, hold fort at the front door.” The women nodded and walked away. Star set to work on the popcorn. -----------------------------------------------------------------
